Fenix 1/10th formula gear differential

Fenix 1/10th formula gear differential

Fenix have issued a first image of their forthcoming gear differential for 1/10th formula cars. Coming for 6mm and 1/4″ rear axles the diff is designed to replace the standard ball differential as found on pretty much every formula kit out there. Offering a ball-raced and very narrow design the diff will allow for some fine-tuning using different greases from what is understood. A definite release date is not set yet but according to Fenix the diff, that is on show on the forthcoming Hobby Model Expo in Milan, will become available by the end of the year.

Corally reveals World GT car kit

Corally reveals World GT car kit

Team Corally have released first renderings of their forthcoming 1/10th scale World GT pan car kit. The vehicle is of a pretty basic design but the front end allowing for independent roll centre adjustments by raising or lowering the lower A-arms or upper arm mounts while the rear motor pod is obviously of a rail-type design for step-less axle height adjustments. The pretty wide chassis seems to take both standard length and shorty battery packs. More information and images should become available in time for the release.

Traugott Schär takes European 200mm 40+ title

The Nitro On-road 40+ EFRA European Championships were held in Lostallo, Switzerland in mixed weather conditions. The five qualifying rounds were run in both dry and wet conditions and at the end Traugott Schär grabbed the TQ in the 200mm class. From the Super Pole Bernd Hasselbring bumped up into the main final as did Hartmut Rose and Andreas Husman who won their respective semifinals. Thankfully the main could be run in dry condition and it was again Traugott Schär (Xray) who came out fastest after some nice fights with Andreas Husman (Mugen). Hartmut Rose (Xray) completed the podium result in third place.

IDEA – Andreas Myrberg Column #2

IDEA – Andreas Myrberg Column #2

Why are Touring Car drivers the ‘best’ drivers? Or to put it differently, if you make it in touring you can make it anywhere. Yes, now a lot of you are upset, I understand but give me some of your time and I will try to explain why, as well as try to back this statement up. First of all how do you define a Touring Car driver? Especially the world class drivers, as most drivers have driven many different classes during their careers. So maybe I should write, why is it that so many drivers who succeed in Touring Car racing ALSO have great results in other classes also? There are definitely more of those, than drivers from other classes who ALSO make it in Touring Cars. So I need to give some examples.

Avid ARC R10 ’15 aluminium chassis

Avid ARC R10 '15 aluminium chassis

Coming soon from Avid and made for the ARC R10 ’15 touring car is an aluminium main chassis. Cut from 2mm 7075-T6 material and coming black anodised and with silver edge highlights the chassis features unique herringbone cut-outs for a lower weight and optimised flex characteristics. Battery tape on the bottom of the chassis has a cutout slot so it doesn’t interfere with ride height checks or drag on track while the 2mm thickness allows for a lower centre of gravity and the ability to lower roll centres more than stock. The direct replacement 82mm wide chassis is recommended for medium to high-bite conditions.

Hinz wraps up double PL Indoor Champs victory

Hinz wraps up double PL Indoor Champs victory

The Pro-Line Indoor Championships race was recently held at Warehouse3. Friday started out as all-day practice, with everyone trying to find the hot setup. On Saturday the track opened for three rounds of qualifying with rocket round times. About halfway through the 18-heat program was Mod 4WD Buggy. Tommy Hinz set the TQ time to beat by over 15 seconds. Up next was 2WD. Hinz again had the TQ run by 4 seconds over teammate Ashe Deering. In the second round, Hinz again TQd 4WD. However, 2WD racing got a bit closer. Deering was in the first heat and had a good run going the extra lap. Hinz followed him to go the extra lap and take TQ back over by half a second. Sunday was the triple A-mains and Hinz would win A1 and A2, wrapping up the win for both 2WD and 4WD classes.

Pro-Line Micron 1/10th buggy rear tyres

Pro-Line Micron 1/10th buggy rear tyres

Coming soon from Pro-Line Racing is the Micron 1/10th rear buggy tyre. The tread is basically a lower pin option of the Electron with whom it shares the connected tread technology with an emphasis on creating as many forward facing edges as possible for maximum forward grip. The unique centre tread zig zags back and forth for both forward and side bite while maintaining good wear given the low tread height. The Micron is available in M4 super soft and MC clay compound including blue closed cell inserts.
