RS5 Modelsport introduce the follow up in their successful line of 1/5th scale touring cars, the T15. With a recent push to use ultra soft compound front tires, this new car has been developed with, among many other things, additional setup options to help tune out front mechanical grip if needed. A weight distribution change to increase the rear end grip of the car they created new wishbones that are offset to the front. Capricorn TE03 EP Touring car

Capricorn TE03 EP Touring car

Following input from team drivers Eric Dankel and Kyle Branson Capricorn have update the suspension on their electric touring car and will soon release the results, called the TE03. The suspension mounts are no longer mounted to the chassis plate but instead to the differential mount, while still utilising the same bushing system as in its predecessor. The new system uses shims to adjust the front and rear track width, rear toe and the opening of the arms on the front. This new configuration allows the chassis to flex more freely and works with the new floating steering design that can be adjusted for different flex characteristics. Other new items include new upper front tie rod mounts and lower front bumper and bumper plate.

Team Associated and Reedy have announced the signing of 2014 IFMAR 1:8 World Championship podium finisher Carson Wernimont to a multi-year deal. The former Mugen/Schumacher driver brings with him not just driving talent, but the experience in both 1:10 and 1:8 off-road to develop products. Having represented Reedy since his first major win in 2012 at the Reedy International Off-Road Race of Champions in the 2WD Open class, Wernimont has had experience working with the staff at Team Associated and is excited about “finding a home” within the industry. Carson will continue to use the full line of Reedy products, including speed controls, batteries, motors, and other accessories. When asked about signing Wernimont, Team Manager Brent Thielke said, “Having shown that he can already compete with the best in the world, all of us are excited about Carson joining the team. His calm, but fierce focus on and off the track translates into quality finishes and useful input that helps to develop our products. He will be a great addition to our team.” Wernimont agreed, saying,

I’m super excited to be a part of Team Associated and Reedy. They’ve always had a great racing program and I’m looking forward to working with them in 2015 and beyond. I would like to thank Brent Thielke and Cliff Lett for the awesome opportunity and am looking forward to a successful year!

Look for Carson to split his time between both gas and electric off-road. As the year goes on, Carson will mostly focus on regional, national and international gas events campaigning for the new Team Associated 1:8 line of vehicles.
