Coming soon from Alpha is the Dragon II Worlds Edition nitro off-road engine. No exact details are known yet but the engine is meant to offer more stable idling, easier carburettor tuning and good bottom, middle and top end speed. We bring you more information as we get them.

The second round of the Essex Winter Series took place this weekend. Again, the series featured a fully-booked entry, but a few last minute withdrawals allowed the organisers to accommodate the majority of the drivers on the waiting list. One of those was current UK National Champion, Olly Jefferies. With Round 1 winner Andy Moore and expected title contender Kyle Branson at the 1/10th 200mm Worlds, championship points would certainly be up for grabs.

Following a first teaser image Italian company Bittydesign have released a first proper photo of their forthcoming carpet-specific 190mm bodyshell. Coming with a BMW-ish front end design and a roof line that reminds on the popular Mazda 6 the body is purpose designed for carpet racing and it will be officially released at the end of this month.

HB announce that Andy Moore has signed with HB for another 2 years, to the end of 2016. Andy has been a core member of the on-road racing team since he first joined Team HB and showed his commitment to racing excellence when he gained the ultimate accolade, winning the IFMAR ISTC World Championship in 2006. He is one of the longest-serving members of team HB, and will race the HB Pro 5, R10 and R8 in 2015 and beyond. Here is what Andy has to say about the deal:
I’m extremely happy to be announcing my 2 year contract extension with HB-HPI Racing which will see us working together on- and off-track through until the next On-Road World championships in Beijing, China. Having been a major part of the design, test and development side of our new Pro 5 project, its going to be fun to see customers out there on track after the release and as always Ill be on hand to offer help and support to any racers who need it. CRC’s 2014 IFMAR World Championships winning Xti-WC 1/12th scale pan car kit will soon become available for the public. Building on the winning heritage from the multi-champion Xti and Xti-Altered Ego cars, the World Champion edition features a new chassis and a front sub frame U-plate as well as minor geometry tweaks to allow both stock and modified racing right out of the package. The main feature of the new design is the front sub frame that uses six attachment points rather than four. The “double decker” design coupled with the increased mounting positions results in a much more rigid front end, however, the user can remove one set of mounting points to adjust the front flex of the chassis.

Their leading onroad driver since turning pro with the Slovakian manufacturer three years ago, Alexander Hagberg finally rewarded Team Xray by taking his first World title at the 200mm World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, this evening. Starting from third on the grid, the Swede would drive an impressive 1-hour race to see off strong challenges from both Jilles Groskamp and Top Qualifier Dominic Greiner to win Xray’s second 200mm World title. Starting from 10th on the grid, it was Serpent’s Yuya Sahashi who would finish second 1-lap down with Greiner completing the podium at the Huge RC Circuit.
