VRC Pro goes Pattaya

VRC Pro goes Pattaya

Virtual RC have just released the Pattaya off-road track for the VRC Pro RC car simulator software. The track, home of the 2010 IFMAR Worlds and the Asia Contest race, is considered to be the biggest, baddest and meanest off-road track on the planet. The track uses the 2012 layout and offers 450 meters of digital Thai dirt, daring doubles, triples and quads. The track is optimised to be used in both directions so you get 2 tracks in 1. With the release of the Pattaya track VRC Pro now features 9 full-size off-road tracks suitable for nitro buggies and short course trucks.

Schelle RB6 ball-raced steering rack & chassis wrap

Schelle RB6 ball-raced steering rack & chassis protector

Schelle Racing Innoovations introduce two hop-ups for Kyosho’s 2WD Ultima series vehicles. First up is a ball-raced steering rack for the RB6, RT6 and SC6. The ball bearing construction eliminates slop from the pivot bushings while the design allows for additional Ackermann adjustment fore-aft as well as a wide steering pivot option. Widening out the inner bellcrank pivots shortens the steering link rod to better match the camber gain in the suspension and in testing Schelle found that the wide pivot setting produces a more predictable steering feel as the chassis leans in the turns. The second new part is a pre-cut chassis protection decal for the RB6. The sticker is made by UpgradeRC, sports the Schelle logos and it protects the chassis bottom from becoming excessively scratched on abrasive surfaces.

Nielsen & Jenson take wins at JBRL Rd4

Nielsen & Jenson take wins at JBRL Rd4

This past weekend was JBRL round 4 at OCRC in Huntington Beach, CA wit a great turnout once again for the JBRL with 265 entries for the one day event.  Doug “Casper” Nielsen was able to take a convincing win in Electric 8th scale. Casper drove his Tekin-powered TLR buggy to the victory. He would start the main in P2 loosing out on the TQ by only .8sec over TLR teammate David Jenson. At the tone David Jenson would lead the field for the start of the 10 minute A-main with Casper following close behind and the two would break away from the pack after a few laps. After a couple of minutes into the race David would make a mistake and Casper would be able to capitalise passed David and never look back. TLR/Tekin teammate Ryan Dunford would put in a great run to finish 3rd and take the JBRL points lead with the effort after 4 rounds. In Pro-4 Casper would finish a strong 3rd to put him on the podium with TLR teammates David Jenson first and Ryan Dunford 2nd to ensure a TLR podium sweep with the SCTE 2.0.
