Bayer doubles at Czech 1/8th off-road nationals Rd1

The first round of the Czech Republic 1/8th off-road national championship took place this past weekend in Horni Jeleni. The race format saw four qualifying rounds on Saturday with the fifth and final qualifier being run on Sunday, followed by the finals. The weekend started out wet but the weather on Saturday cleared up and in the improving conditions it was Xray’s Martin Bayer who took the TQ in both the Nitro Buggy and E-Buggy classes. On Sunday, right before the semifinals, heavy rain poured down meaning the finals had to be cancelled. This handed Martin Bayer the win in the Nitro Buggy class from David Kukla and Jan Zamis.

TLR 22 series bellcrank steering system

TLR 22 series bellcrank steering system

Team Losi Racing have released first official information on a bellcrank steering system for the 22 series of 2WD buggies and trucks. Testing has shown that a bellcrank steering can have advantages over the kit’s rail-type steering assembly as the reduced Ackermann geometry of the bellcrank steering making the vehicle less aggressive off-centre while adding low speed steering at the same time. The kit includes all needed parts to convert the TLR 22, 22 2.0, 22T or 22SCT and comes with ball-raced bellcranks, a new steering link, ball cups and ball joints as well as new steering spindles. The kit will become available by mid-August.

When the second round started things became better and most of the drivers tried to get some laps in before the qualifying.

Volker celebrates 10th ETS win with Mattsee victory

sun_ronaldwinner

He said after A1 he expected a stronger challenge from his team-mate and that is exactly what he got in A2, but in the end Ronald Volker was able to hold off intense pressure from Yannic Prumper to claim the overall win at the Yokomo Euro Touring Series fourth round in Mattsee, Austria. The win marks the defending champion’s 10th ETS race leaving him just 1 off the championship’s most winning driver Marc Rheinard who completed the Top 3 for second of the day’s A-Mains. In terms of the championship today’s victory together with bonus point for TQ means now only Team Xray’s Alexander Hagberg, who is having a tough event at fahr(T)raum, can deny the Yokomo driver & his team their fourth consecutive Ride Modified title.

Futaba T4PX telemetry radio system

Futaba T4PX telemetry radio system

Futaba introduce the T4PX, the company’s latest top-of-the-foodchain radio system. Offering a completely new design compared to the 4PK series, the transmitter is around 15g lighter than the 4PKS-R with an aluminium frame being part of the body to make for a more rigid structure. The 2.4GHz radio makes use of Futaba’s T-FHSS, S-FHSS and FASST-C2 transmitting systems with the T-FHSS system response being 30 percent faster compared to the 4PKS-R’s. Incorporated into the case is a QVGA 3.5 TFT colour screen that allows to monitor all of the radio’s software features such as the the comprehensive mixing and telemetry functions. For sanctioned races all telemetry functions can be disabled. It is understood that the radio will become available by August.
