Ronald Ström wins 1/12th at MSEC Rd1

The first round of the Middle Swedish Cup saw new Zen Racing driver Ronald Ström taking the 1/12th scale win. Having only received the conversion kit the Friday before the race Ronald still managed to leave Mickael Brandt and Magnus Hedlung behind.

Picco Torque Edo Mod X-Type CER WC edition engine

Italian company Picco introduce their latest .21 on-road nitro engine in the form of the Torque Edo Mod X-Type CER World Champion Edition motor. Build to commemorate the victory at the recent 1/8 on-road World Championships the engine features an improved cylinder intake port, a rear ceramic ball bearing, an updated cooling head with special WC edition graphics and also a new aluminium carburettor. Included with the engine, that is available separately or with an EFRA 2033 pipe, also comes a suitable P7TC glow plug.

Team Durango announce the soon release of the latest DEX410 incarnation called the “v4”. The car that TQ’d the 2013 IFMAR World Championships will incorporate 15 improvements over its predecessor while retaining the already proven pedigree of the DEX410 platform. Xray announce their new line of 48 pitch aluminium pinion gears. They are precisely machined from 7075-T6 material, offer ultra true running and a light weight. The hard-coated surface makes them ideal for the use in off-road vehicles and they come in a range of sizes from 18T up to 25T with the actual size laser-etched into the pinion.

Van Biljoen & Geldenhuys win at SA Off Road Champs

The last round of the South African National Off Road Championship took place at the Avion Raceway near Johannesburg. Drivers from all over the country attended the event with over 50 entries in the buggy and truggy class. In the buggy class, Justin van Biljoen (Mugen) from Pretoria was Top Qualifier and went on to win the 1 hour final in front of Christoff Meyer (Team Associated) and Tiaan Oelofse (Mugen). In the overall championship the buggy class win went to Miguel Haasbroek (Mugen). In the truggy class, Cape Town driver Arno Geldenhuys (Mugen) won the final closely followed by local driver Chris vd Westhuizen (Team C) and 3rd was up and coming young driver Tyler Burger (MUgen) from East London.

Alex Zanchettin wins at IBR Winter Indoor Race Rd1

The first out of three Winter Indoor Race meetings was held at IBR Padova last weekend. The race saw a good amount of international drivers attending such as Kyosho’s Cody King and Elliott Boots, Team Durango’s Jörn Neumann or Mugen’s Robert Battle to name just a few. At the end of the hour long F1 final TLR’s Alex Zanchettin took the win one lap ahead of TLR team mate Alessandro Stocco. Cody King finished five seconds down in third position. Martin Wollanka (Xray) and Jerome Sartel (Agama) came in fourth and fifth respectively.

LRP have new option parts for the S8 1/8th off-road platform available in the form of three aluminium suspension mounts. Coming as FR, RF and RR variant the suspension hangers are CNC-machined from aluminium, come blue anodised and make for a more precise and durable location of the lower wishbones. The parts fit the S8 Rebel, S8 BX, S8 BXe and S8 TX.

RB Blast V17 limited edition engine

New from RB comes the Blast V17 .21 nitro off-road engine. The limited edition 5-port engine features RB’s dual bypass multi exhaust system, a lightened and bi-balanced 14mm turbo crankshaft with silicone insert and a lightweight piston with a durable competition conrod. The lightweight low-profile cooling head is coupled to a Turbo combustion camber insert and the composite carburettor is equipped with a 7mm venture insert. The engine is build around a strong crankcase with high speed bearings and available separately or as combo set including an in-line exhaust system.
