Mattias Johnasson wins Swedish Summer Series final

The final round of the Swedish Summer Series was held at the Orebro RC Club in rainy weather conditions. In qualifying Mattias Johansson (Xray) was the fastest man in the extreme conditions followed by Andreas Johansson (Serpent), and Morgan Flodin (Xray). In the finals the rain started to cause problems for many drivers with many retirements as the result. In the first A final Mattias Johansson pulled away from the field leaving Eddie Lundin (Xray) and Andreas Johannsen behind. Mattias also went on to win the second leg followed by John Lara (Xray) and again Andreas Johannson. With Mattias having won the first two rounds only the second and third sport on the podium was up for grabs and it was Andreas Johannson who took the runner up spot in the end with John Lara finishing in third place.

Jerome Sartel wins French Champs final round

Jerome Sartel has won the final round of the French 1/8 off-road championship held in Savigny. The Agama driver won the final two laps ahead of Tony Robin (Kyosho) and some three laps ahead of third placed S-Workz driver Edouard Hugon. 2012 champion Jerome Aigion finished in 8th position.

Saggers & York win HNMC Summer Rd 8

The last round of the HNMC Summer series finished as it started with a dry start due to turn with about lunch time. 58 Buggies and 10 Truggies braved the conditions as again the Proline layout was used. Qualifying saw a battle between Karl Jackson and Callum Niblet with Karl taking TQ in the buggy class. Jon Hazelwood dominated Truggy qualifying just missing out a 9 lapper in round one. Come the finals Tom Saggers went on to win the Buggy class ahead of Olier Curry and John Niall. Rob York grabbed the win in the Truggy class with Harry Philips in second and Simon Miller in third position.

VBC Wildfire servo mount & shock upgrades

VBC introduce new option parts for the Wildfire electric touring car in the form of a centre servo mount and a shock upgrade kit. Starting with the servo mount the part is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and it is designed to optimize left-right balance by only using the centre location holes of the chassis. The mount comes gun metal anodized and is ideal for all 40mm wide servos. The second new part is the shock upgrade kit that contains a set of 12 one to three hole teflon shock pistons, four titanium-coated shock shafts and hardware. It makes for additional setup options and smoother operating shock absorbers.

Maifield completes ‘Clash’ title defence hat trick

Ryan Maifield pulled off a hat trick of wins at the 6th Annual JConcepts Clash with the factory Team Associated driver successfully defending all three of his 2011 titles at this year’s event which took place in Mississippi.  Having wrapped up 2WD Buggy & Short Course earlier in the day at the Flowood Indoor R/C Park, Maifield completed the perfect event when he dominated the 30-minute 1:8 Nitro Buggy finals as his main rivals hit problems.  In the end Maifield took the win by four laps from the Losi of Jason Smith with Top Qualifier Dustin Evans recovering from two engine flame-outs to complete the podium.

Maifield cruises to victory in opening A-Mains

Team Associated’s Ryan Maifield made light work of the opening A-Main of the JConcepts Clash in both 2WD Buggy and 2WD Short Course with the Top Qualifier cruising to two very comfortable victories moving a step closer to retaining his titles in both classes. In 2WD Buggy the expected battle between Maifield and Team Losi Racing’s Dustin Evans never materialized after the Colorado driver struggled with the handling of his TLR22 which resulted in a mistake on the opening lap. In the end it was Evans team-mate JR Mitch who took second in both finals.

Evans takes 1:8 Buggy TQ at JConcepts Clash

Making his JConcepts Clash debut TLR’s Dustin Evans is the Top Qualifier in 1:8 Nitro Buggy after taking his 8ight to a third TQ run in the fourth & final round of qualifying at the Flowood Indoor R/C Park in Mississippi.  Better known as one of Losi’s leading electric racers Evans pipped defending Champion Ryan Maifield in Q4 by 9/10ths of a second with the fastest 5-minute run of the event.

Maifield is 2WD Buggy Top Qualifier at ‘Clash’

Ryan Maifield has put himself in the best possible position to defend his JConcepts Clash 2WD Buggy title after he took the final round of qualifying to secure himself overall TQ honours for tomorrow’s final at the Flowood Indoor R/C Park in Mississippi.  The Associated driver set a new fastest time of the weekend in the fourth qualifier taking the round ahead of Q1 & Q3 winner Dustin Evans to tie with his big rival but having run 14-laps in both his TQ runs the Arizona driver secures pole position for the triple mains on tie-break.
