Juan C Rodriguez wins in Puerto Rico

Juan C Rodriguez wins in Puerto Rico

The second round of the Puerto Rican electric touring series took place at the PitLane RC track. The traction was high all day and the layout very fast with many hairpin turns which meant speed and acceleration would play an integral part in the car’s setup. Juan C Rodriguez was able to TQ the first of two qualifiers in the Boosted 10.5T class ahead of Xray team mate Jose Colon. In the first A main Juan had to retire early due to a broken sensor cable but the following finals saw him pull away from Jose handing Juan the win with Jose Colon in second and Jose Cruz in third place.

Pro-Line Rat Rod & Desert Milita body

Pro-Line Rat Rod & Desert Milita body

Not really of a racing subject but cool to look at are two new Pro-Line body shells for the Traxxas 1:16 Revo truck. First up is the Rat Rod body, a low-profile soft top roadster with large front grille. The crude looking shell comes with custom pinstripe-style stickers and grill/headlight decals. The second new body is the Desert Militia, again for the 1:16 Revo. Combining several military vehicle designs the body sports huge fenders to clear the oversized race tires and massive suspension travel. The back of the vehicle has been enclosed with quick release panels to hide the spare tires, fuel cell and oil coolers. A final touch is the full width roof mounted light bar.

Pro-Line buggy wing, wheel nuts & tire updates

Pro-Line introduce several new parts in the form of the Stabilizer 6.5″ buggy wing, Pro-Cap 17mm wheel nuts and the Ion 1/10th buggy tire in two new compounds. Starting with the wing, it is 6.5″ wide and designed for the use with 1/10th buggies. It features a stepped side wing profile to clear the rear tires and to add durability. Made from super thick Lexan and coming in packs of two the wing fits nearly every 2WD and 4WD buggy out there. Also new are 17mm Pro-Cap serrated wheel nuts for 1/8th buggies and truggies. The nuts sport a shielded design to keep dust and dirt out of the delicate tread section, they come blue anodised and sport the iconic P-L logo. The serrated back section securely grubs into the wheel for added security against wheel loss. Last but not least comes the new compound Ion 1/10th buggy tire. The indoor clay tire was formally only available in the dedicated MC compound and will soon be available in soft M3 and super soft M4 rubber also.
