Bittydesign A8 Force body & mudguards

Bittydesign introduce the Force body for Agama’s A8 buggy. Designed in cooperation with Italian Agama drivers Riccardo Perin and Stefano Cantoni the body produces improved front end grip in both low and high speed corners while maximising rear downforce due to the redesigned side pods. The roof section sports a small fin to add engine protection. Made from 1.0mm Lexan material the body comes clear with outer protective film, window masks and decal sheet. Also available are suitable rear mudguards. They are made from clear 1.0mm Lexan and protect the wishbones, driveshafts and shock absorbers from becoming excessively dirty in muddy racing conditions.

RPM Ten-SCTE rear bumper, mud flaps & number plate

RPM introduce the rear bumper and mud flaps and number plate kit for Losi’s Ten-SCTE truck. Available separately the redesigned rear bumper adds protection to the bodyshell by being relocated compared to the stock part. Added material around the screw holes make for a more rigid bumper. The mud flaps and number plate kit is an accessory item that adds a scale look to the truck. The mounting holes of the mud flap support arms place the mud flaps at an angled 15 degree, mimicking a few renegade full-sized short course trucks currently in popular racing series. Both the rear bumper as well as the mud flaps and number plate kit are sold separately and come with mounting hardware and instructions.

KM World Cup Hong Kong selection race Rd5

The fifth round of the KM World Cup Hong Kong selection race took place last weekend at the HK-based ACO track. KM H-K1 driver Nicolas Lee from Singapore dominated the qualifiers and took TQ in front of Dirty Tiger and Hung Cheung Hang, both also piloting H-K1 chassis. Come the finals Nicolas had a slow start with Dirty Tiger and Hung Cheung Hang putting pressure on him and eventually overtaking him as the result of two errors made by the pole-sitter. Around the 15 minutes mark Hang made a mistake leading in a flame out meaning Nicolas was able to grab second place. Only a minute later disaster stroke for Dirty Tiger who broke his car making way for Nicolas, with Hung Cheung Hang finishing two laps down in second and Vincent Tang (KM H-K1) in third place.

Chris Grainger wins Schumacher BTCC opener

Last weekend saw the opening round of the Schumacher BTCC 2012 Championship at what many people in our fraternity say is the best track in the country, Cotswolds Model Car Club. The weather forecast didn’t look too good before the event maybe putting a few people off, however 115 drivers were set to compete. As always the excellent Sorex XG-32RY tyre was the choice for the dry and the new XG-Rain treaded tyre for the wet. All day Saturday was open practice, some people making it a two day event and others choosing to turn up on the day. Sunday morning was nice and sunny but with rain in the night open practice was on a drying track.

JConcepts 3Ds, Inverse wheels & plastic locknuts

JConcepts have released the 3Ds 1/10th buggy race tire in blue, green and orange compounds. Developed to be the ultimate slick-groove tire, the 3Ds are a first to combine the high-stability design of a black groove bar tire into an individually flexible pattern of finely spaced Double Dee lugs in one package. As racing on both indoor and outdoor conditions have matured, a more flexible, supremely grippy tire design was necessary to drive the edgy, fast pace. The 3Ds grip are a new, highly sought after, favorite in these conditions. Also making its debut is the Inverse, 2-piece 12mm hex wheel for the B4.1 and B44.1. The 2-piece design provides several benefits for maximum performance and ease of use. The inner wheel comes standard in a stealth, black matte finish providing the driver a look and feel never seen before. In addition, the inner wheel is designed as a completely smooth surface for the cleanest fit and finish which resists debris build-up.

Thunder Innovation 4-shoe Pro One clutch system

Thunder Innovation have introduced their new 4-shoe Pro One clutch system which provides ultimate performance, great tunability and flexibility as well as ease of assembly and long lifespan. The shoe design provides much more contact with the bell and there are three types of flywheel for different track conditions. The light aluminium version is used on high traction surfaces and to provide a little extra bottom end snap from your engine. The medium & heavy versions are used to tune for low traction surfaces, as well as to smooth out low RPM power delivery on engines that have a strong bottom end hit.
