DuraTrax 1/10 scale VW Baja Bug

The DuraTrax 1/10 scale VW Baja Bug gives drivers a blast from the past. DuraTrax has engineered this model to match the original characteristics of being tough, tireless and a ball to drive. The Bug takes harsh terrain in stride, handles sand dunes as easily as dirt roads and rainy weather just as confidently as perfect driving conditions. Features like MagnaFlex components and Stress-Tech protection let drivers take over tough turf with confidence and because the Bug is ready-to-run with a 2.4GHz radio, motor and ESC, they can “drop the hammer” and go anywhere. Scale detail bodies feature signature details of the originals from light bars, bumpers and roof racks to modified fenders and an exposed engine, complete with dual exhaust. The 2.4GHZ radio system is dependable, interference-free and fully compatible with Futaba FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) radio systems like the 2PL, 3PL, and 4PL.

JConcepts 1/8th truck Hybrids

JConcepts 1/8th truck Hybrids

A combination of years of development with JConcepts drivers, the Hybrids are all the rage and the combination of the most popular JConcepts tires available. A mid-lug design with unique inner Crowbar center lug DNA, the Hybrid is built for speed and ultimate high-speed control and handling. Supported lug control and X-braced sidewall lug detail is designed to go the distance in long qualifiers, final main events and beyond. Adapted for the 1/8th truck class featuring the Elevated Bead design the lightweight continuous tire body design minimizes rotating mass which makes the 1/8th truck Hybrid a dynamite performer straight out of the package. Extensive testing showed a smaller pin height advantageous in many conditions and particularly when sharp angles and edges arise in the track surface. At the base of the design, the new mid-height lugs present the compound to the racing surface while the center lug DNA picks up the heavy lifting for forward-bite. Available in Soft (Blue) and Super Soft (Green) compounds.

Martin Sørlie wins Norwegian Cup Series

Martin Sørlie wins Norwegian Cup Series

Last weekend the final round of the Norwegian Cup Series was held at Radøy RC’s track, about an hour away from the coastal city of Bergen. It was a bumpy astro track with high grip, and although this place is far away from most drivers and often has bad weather, participation was surprisingly high. In 2wd Martin Sørlie running his Team Orion Powered TLR 22 was nearly guaranteed the win in the Norwegian cup with the most points, and with a TQ & 2nd place finish he did so with a 75 point lead ahead of Frode Pedersen and Niklas Bjørkå Roos, both running 22’s as well. In 4wd it was a lot more competition, as there were five drivers theoretically in contention of the cup win. The points from four out of five races count, and having run and won only two races, Martin would need to win this last race with his Team Orion Powered Yokomo Bmax to be able to win the cup. Qualifying second on the grid and winning two of the mains, meant he did his job. 2nd and 3rd place went to Niklas Bjørkå Roos (Schumacher) and Arne-Peder Flesvik (Yokomo).

Thanks to Martin Sørlie for the report.
