Kyle McBride as taken his third straight win at the Meakin Masters, held at the Brickyard, Logan Off Road’s track in South East Queensland, Australia.  The event took place last weekend and after 6 rounds of qualifying, Kyle took the TQ with his DNX408, setting an extremely fast pace. At the start of the A-main Kyle battled hard with the 2nd place qualifier for the first 5 minutes and then made a break to take a comfortable lead, after the first fuel stop Kyle was in a very strong position and continued to push hard – eventually lapping the whole field by the 25 minute mark. Max Power have introduced their new XXL9 14.5 engine. A completely new 3,5cc on road engine featuring a 14.5mm diameter shaft. Fearing all the improvements of the XL9 TQR which we covered last week, such as the reinforced crankcase, new piston & liner set with revised wrist pin height, and new wider/lower/lighter cooling head, the big performance difference between the two engines is that the 14.5 will have higher top speed. Together with XL9 TQR, this will be the engine the Max Power team will in Miami for the World championships in April.

After two successful years with the Spanish company Merlin Fuel, I thank them for their support, and look for new challenges with my new sponsor, Orcan. At the end of 2010 I compared many types of fuel to determine which would be best suited to my high demands. I am confident that Orcan fuel will provide me with the best consistency and power in all conditions, and I will rely on the experience of Mr. Bertram Kessler in this department.

Team Magic 200mm Prototype chassis

Team Magic 200mm Prototype chassis

During the Toy Fair we sat down with Italian Raimondo Gilletti, the man charged with working on the new Team Magic touring car for the Taiwanese company. Having just come back from working in Taiwan for the past few months we were shown the results of that collaboration in the form of these CAD images of the prototype which they are planning to produce. A change in direction for TM in terms of the look of the car, it is now much more conventional in its styling and configuration, which is not a bad thing. As with everything on the car, with the exception of the shock absorbers, the geometry is also completely new and that is ‘inspired’ by the current market leaders in order to give the car a solid base from which to develop further in the future. This design will go into the prototype phase by features and specifications may change before the car hits production. We were also told that the competition brand for Team Magic will become K-Factory, which this car will fall under.
