Shepherd are pleased to announce the signing of this years Italian Vice-Champion Andrea Pirani for the upcoming season. With his experience and speed he is a great addition to their team of world class drivers and will help with testing and improving new and existing products. Andrea plans to attend a preparation race for the World Championship in January as well as the World Championship itself, the European Championship and of course the Italian National Championship races. He had the following to say:

I’m very happy to run with Team Shepherd for 2011. I’m ready to win some great races like the World and European Championships. I have already tested the Velox V8 and I felt very good with it since the first laps. The german quality of Shepherd is excellent. Simon Willetts joins Competition Heat

GB Modelsport has announced that Simon Willetts will be one of its leading drivers using the new Competition Heat 12V engine heater in 2011. Simon used the engine heater for the first time at the CML Winter Series meeting at Frankley Model Car Club, taking TQ by round 2, and then going on to win the A Final with his Orion powered Kyosho. On a bone chilling day, where the ambient temperature struggled to reach 6°C, Simon used the heater to good effect. “The car started first time, every time, all through the day and the engine was pretty much good to go as soon as it fired up” commented Simon.

Austin Blair does double at NorCal Offroad Champs

Tekno RC are reporting that team driver Austin Blair put on a show at the recent NorCal Offroad Championships held at NorCal Hobbies in Union City, CA. With his Tekno RC V4/Traktion Drive equipped Kyosho MP9 and Mugen MBX6T, Austin TQ’d and won the 1/8th electric buggy and electric truggy classes in convincing fashion. A triple A Main format was used for this race and Austin won A1 and A2 in both classes giving him the win by default allowing him to sit out the 3rd races.

Xray are now selling this fuel level indicator for the NT1 fuel tank in the form of a white transparent die-cut sticker. Simply apply the sticker to the appropriate location on radio plate beside fuel tank and when the car is lifted by rear (nose to ground) the stickers will quickly show you the amount of fuel remaining. Sold in a set of 4 they display the fuel measurement in 5cl increments.

Hagberg & Yli win the Nordic Championships

Hagberg & Yli win the Nordic Championships

The indoor Nordic Championships was held this weekend at Spydeberg, 40 minutes from Norway’s capitol city Oslo, with some of the best of the Nordic drivers from Finland, Sweden and Norway in attendance. In Modified touring it was Xray driver Alexander Hagberg who had the best run and claimed the TQ spot ahead of local star Adrian Berntsen in 2nd and Michael Nilsson in 3rd. In 1/12 scale it was Vesa Yli who was fighting with Helge Johannessen for the TQ spot and after 5 qualifying heats it was Vesa who claimed the top spot in front of Helge Johannessen and Adrian Berntsen.
