Penguin Custom Bodyshells King Penguin wing

Penguin Custom Bodyshells distributor Schumacher has introduced the new King Penguin rear wing for 1/10th scale off-road vehicles. Overall slightly smaller than the Penguin Emperor wing, having raised ridges either side to add durability and stability on the straights, it also has a flat profile across most its length to aid in down force while featuring trim lines on the gurney to enable the driver to tune for different surfaces easily. The body comes moulded from clear high-quality polycarbonate and it is usable for most of today‘s 1/10th off-road buggies.

Rinderknecht & Fuller crowned Winter Series champions

The RC Compound of Des Moines, Iowa hosted the final round of the final round of their Winter Indoor Series this past weekend with over 65 entries. In the overall standings of 2WD Modified Buggy it was Mason Fuller who would walk away with the overall title some two points ahead of Tom Rinderknecht, who ended the season on the runner-up spot. Kaden Fuller would complete the all-TLR top 3 result. Over in 4WD Mod Buggy it was Tom Rinderknecht who came out on top by a 2-point margin as Mason Fuller finished in 2nd overall. Chad “Rico” Karstens rounded out the overall top 3 result.

Harker & Pillars win at Stickit1Racing Mod Series Rd2

Round 2 of the 2020 Stickit1Racing.com “We’re Back Racing” Friday Night Modified Off-Road Series was hosted by PDX RC Underground in Portland, Oregon last week. Yokomo’s Travis Harker and Joe Pillars would tie for the overall win in the highly competitive 2WD Modified Buggy class that consisted of 24 entries, with three wins each. Harker would win the tie-breaker by posting the single fastest run. Team Associated’s Ryan Reavis finished 3rd overall.

NathoBuilds titanium ball studs

Coming from NathoBuilds are their new 5.5mm broached Grade 5 titanium ball studs. They are 45 percent lighter than standard steel ball studs, twice as strong as Grade 2 material and they have been designed and made with a taller neck for added strength and character for the car, but still having the same geometry as the standard ball studs. The ball studs are available as pairs or complete sets for the Yokomo YZ-4SF, or Team Associated B74, B6.2, SC6.1 and T6.1.

Culley & Skidmore win at 8th Annual Judge Race

The 8th Annual Judge Race was hosted by GS Hobby in Barling, Arkansas this past weekend, attracting 120 entires for the several 1/10th electric off-road classes. When the dust had settled and in the 2WD Modified Buggy class it was Braxten Culley with the overall TQ and also the win in after the triple A-main events. Braxten would finish 2-1-1 with A1 winner, Kyle Skidmore (Team Associated), coming in 2nd overall as JR Mitch (TLR) completed the top 3 result in qualifying order.

Dillon Caldwell sweeps RC Pro Series Rd1

452 Raceway of Lindale, Texas hosted the opening round of the RC Pro Series this past weekend, with the event attracting over 120 entries. In Pro Nitro Buggy it was HB Racing’s Dillon Caldwell with the win in the 30-minute A-main event after having a troubled start to the race with his buggy’s engine running lean in the opening stages. However he was able to recover from an early pitstop to re-adjust the settings and from there he never looked back to take the lead in the final stages of the race and ultimately he walked away with the win from Agama racer and top qualifier, Jake French while another Agama pilot, Brandon Rose completed the top 3 results. Over in the E-Buggy class it was Dillon Caldwell with the overall TQ and he also came out on top after the A-mains, leaving behind Brandon Rose in 2nd and Tekno RC’s Tyler Hooks in 3rd.

Kyosho MP10e 1/8th E-buggy kit

Coming soon from Kyosho is their new MP10e 1/8th scale electric buggy kit. Building on the popular MP10 nitro buggy, the electric-powered variant utilises its nitro-sibling’s reliable transmission and proven suspension components with the chassis being specially developed to provide optimised flex and weight distribution. The motor mount allows the use of a range of motor sizes while its position within the chassis ensures best possible weight balance in combination with the new “spread” battery mounting positions. The newly developed layout promised less chassis roll in corners for increased stability, better car control and higher corner speed. In addition, a specially designed receiver box and a screw-secured speed controller mount provide component protection and maintenance efficiency. Other features include aluminium big bore shock absorbers that are both diaphragm and aeration-type compatible and a dedicated body shell makes or a balanced handling and eye-pleasing looks. The buggy is set for a release this June.

SWorkz S35-4 aluminium hub carrier insert

Coming from SWorkz and made for the S35-4 1/8th scale buggy range is an aluminium rear hub carrier insert. The part is taken from the S35-3 rear wide suspension conversion kit and it also fits to the S35-4 rear upper linkage with the 6061 aluminium insert fully covering the linkage in between the carbon plates. The bushings come anodised in a gun metal colour and are supplied in pairs.
