Adrian Berntsen dominates Norwegian Winter Series Rd3

The third round of the Norwegian winter series was held at Skien fritidspark in Skien last weekend, having a club race on Saturday and National series race on Sunday. The races was open for 4 classes, Modified, Pro Stock, 1:12 Track and EP Buggy. The track was approximately 500m2, having a lot of grip and a challenging layout. The fastest lap in modified was 10.2 seconds by Xray-driver Adrian Berntsen. In modified it was Xray-driver Adrian Berntsen who took the TQ, winning all qualification rounds in front of Tamiya-driver Petter Berntsen in 2nd and Corally-driver Øyvind Stussdal in 3rd.

Durango Japan in search of the right stuff

Durango have been in touch to tell us that their Japanese distributor Tresrey is going to hold an off-road race on January 24, 2010. This race will be an ‘Audition’ to choose a new Team Durango Japan support driver for the 2010 season. The top 3 drivers from each class and selected others will get an interview from Tresrey, following which they will choose one driver to be their Team Durango Japan support driver for the 2010 racing season. The chosen racer will get a DEX410 from Team Durango Ltd, and Tresrey will support them with spare and option parts for the next 12 months and they can also work and pit with the main team at big races such as the Japanese nationals and Reedy race at the world famous Yatabe Arena. The top 3 drivers for both classes will also receive prizes from SpeedPassion.

Sirio confirms deal with Davide Tortorici

Following his recent deal with Hobao, as expected Davide Tortorici has been confirmed at Sirio for the next 4 seasons. Alongside his driving responsibilities, L.M. Lavorazioni Meccaniche S.r.l. have announced that the double European Champion will also manage the technical activities for Sirio engines in the Off-road market. Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro 1 cell

Castle Creations have introduced a special, very limited, run of their Mamba Max Pro that are specially modified to run in the one cell classes. Only made to order, these are special controllers that will have their BEC circuit removed so you will need an outboard 4.8 – 6.0 volt power source to run your electronics. They are still good to 6S max and you get to use all of the advanced Smart Sense and Cheat mode settings. The cutoff for orders must be December 11, 2009 so if you want one you will need to act fast.

RC4wd Outlaw Baja wheels & Rok Lox tires

RC4wd have released their new Outlaw Baja racing wheels for the HPI Baja 5T. The new wheels have been CNC machined from 6061 aluminium and offer a scale CORR racing look for that ultimate trophy truck look. Weighing in at 400 grams and 424 grams for a pair of fronts and rears respectively, they have the same offset as the stock wheels and fit the current range of Baja 5T tires. Also from RC4wd are their Rok Lox tires that just got bigger (219mm dia. x 80mm wide) making them one of the most scale looking 4.0 tires available to date. The Rok Lox 4.0 is manufactured with the most advanced rubber compound and are sure to give you some aggressive bite on the rock. Sold in pairs and supplied with memory foam inserts.

Soeren Boy Holst joins TOP Racing

In collaboration with RC Models in Esbjerg, front running Danish racer Soeren Boy Holst has moved to TOP Racing, to drive their Photon chassis in the 2010 season. Continuing to equip his car with GM Racing motor, speedo and batteries, Soeren’s first appearance with the new touring car will be at the DHI Cup in Odense at the beginning of January. Looking forward to his new season in collaboration with RC Models and his new car, he wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks for the many years of cooperation with former team Xray.
