Sirio to debut 2009 engine line

Following on from our story on Sunday regarding the production of the new Team Orion engines going to the Star Motor Engineering plant, some elements of what our source told us were not correct particularly regarding the future of Sirio. Having spoken to Andrea Rossi (pictured above) he wishes to assure our readers that Sirio is still very strong and will be present at next months toy fair showing off their new line of engines for the 2009 season. We will be reporting live from the show floor in Nuremberg and will be bringing you details of these new motors. We apologise sincerely for any inconvienience caused.

Lars Hoppe joins Shepherd team

Shepherd have announced that talented up-and-coming driver Lars Hoppe will back-up our racing team in the 2009 season. As a key driver for the North of Germany, the former Kyosho racer will support local drivers as well as giving us information about his home track in Hildesheim where the 2009 German Championship will be taking place in July. Finishing in 7th place at the last German Championship, Lars will power his Velox with Novarossi engines and Runner Time fuel.

Paul Lemieux does double at Novak race

Xray team driver Paul Lemieux has reported back from the recent Novak race, held at Scotty Ernst’s Trackside Hobbies track in Milwaukee WI. Qualifying saw Paul TQ the two blue ribboned classes, Modified Foam and 10.5 Rubber, and with triple A-mains on the schedule there was a lot of work for those racers doing multiple classes. In the finals, Paul was challenged early on in both races by Associated driver Kevin Herbert, but Paul was able to pull away and take the win in both classes with Kevin taking the runner spot in both classes, while TOP driver Josh Cyrul took 3rd in Mod Foam and Associated racer Josh Hohnstein 3rd in 10.5 rubber.

Lee Martin wins Petit RC Race 2wd class

Team Associated driver Lee Martin took victory in the 2wd class at the Petit R/C race, which was held at the Maritime raceway in the UK last weekend. Lee put his RC10B4 on pole position by taking TQ in the final two rounds qualifying with the fastest times of the day and went on to convert that pole position into the race win over three legs. After a tough first leg Lee took victory in legs two and three to secure an excellent victory from Tom Cockerill in 2nd and Ellis Stafford 3rd.
