The opening round of the Uruguayan Off-road Championship was held at the fast and super technical San Jose de Mayo track recently. Due to the track being new it changed it nature throughout the day permanently and in the end it was Xray’s Nicolas Bregante who made the best out of it by taking the win in the Nitro Buggy class from Javier Biurrum (Xray) in 2nd and Nicolas Demicheri (Mugen) in 3rd.

Schumacher have introduced the new Penguin Dart body shell for the Cougar Laydown 2WD buggy. The new body is specifically designed for low profile LiPos, ideally 22.5mm and below, and thanks to the body’s low and sleek design it offers a lower centre of gravity and cool new looks. It includes overspray film, window masks and Penguin decals and it is available in a standard or lightweight variant.
Coming from Lit R/C Products and made for the Team Associated RC8B3 series of vehicles is a set of Delrin hinge pin inserts that includes “in-between” 0.5 degree setting square pills. These insert are CNC machined out of durable white Delrin, and are designed to last much longer than the stock factory pill inserts. This set comes with the sought-after “Tweener” pills as well. The pack of 20 square pill inserts includes four center, four .5 out, four 1 out, four .5 corner, and four 1 corner inserts that are also available separately in 10-piece sets.

Last weekend was the final round of the 2019/20 EssexCarpetClash championship, and it came down to this meeting to finalise the top positions in both 2WD and 4WD. 4WD had already been won by Stephen Brown, who wasn’t present at this round allowing the others to fight it out for the podium positions. Qualifying was close between John Painter and birthday boy Luke Mills, being decided on count back time which Painter snatched with a far round 4 run. After 3 legs of finals, it was Mills that would triumph, winning all legs and giving him the overall win of the day. Painter managed to hold 2nd place, in front of a fast Lee Hedges who qualified in 3rd.
Associated Electrics have introduced the new Element RC Ocho wheel sets for the Enduro trail truck. The 1.9” wheels are available in silver or black colour and they feature a classic 8-hole look with a 3-piece design that utilises the industry favoured SLW-style hub. The sets include four wheels and mounting hardware.
Coming from Exotek Racing and made for the Team Associated B74 and B6.2 are new heavy duty aluminium rear hubs and rear hub link mounts. Starting with the rear hubs, these fit the B74 4WD buggy exclusively and their heavy duty design maintains the suspension geometry setting, race after race while the customised polished black base with blue chamfered accents goes great with any stock or after market B74 parts. Exotek’s updated design works as either the left or right hub and the set comes including mounting hardware.
MW RC Cars have announced the signing of Jörn Neumann to the Maclan Racing factory team. The IFMAR World and multi-time EFRA European Champion will use Maclan Racing motors and speed controllers to power his rides this season and he has the following to say about the deal:
