The 2010 Snowbird Nationals classes are now posted, and this year features the addition of Touring Modified Rubber to the lineup. Racers will be dueling it out in eight road classes and eight oval classes this year, which is less divisions than year’s past, making for bigger car counts and more racing excitement. Reedy have announced that their 4600mAh 3.7V LiPo battery is now approved for competition by the BRCA (British Radio Car Association). Already listed on the BRCA website, the battery is legal for the 2009 racing season and beyond.

Coming soon from Italian company Capricorn RC are these new NT1 brake pads. Featuring a special red brake pad material, they offer a smoother braking performance than the standard kit versions. Sold in a pair, it includes two pads and two metal brake plates and comes supplied with 2 springs for helping disengage the brakes.

Last weekend saw round one of this winter’s BRCA 1/12th scale nationals take place in Crewe. The meeting saw most of the familiar faces in attendance along with the return of one or two names who haven’t attended the nationals for a couple of years. The most notable of these was Olly Jefferies, who will be driving an Associated R5.1 in this year’s championship. Last years champion Elliott Harper and former European Champion Andy Moore will also be at the next round, but were absent at this meeting due to International racing commitments.

Team Xray have announced that Eric Dankel has joined their team for the 2009/2010 season. The 1/10th scale Vice European B Champion and Indoor Electric Stock National Champion will run the company’s NT1 chassis in next years German Nationals, as well as the European and World Championships. Eric had the following to say about the deal:
I race Xray because the quality and performance of the car are unbeatable, and at all events the team cooperates perfectly together. In 2010 I will participate at German Nationals, EC and WC and of course at all Nationals. During the winter I will keep racing with the electric touring car.

Motonica team driver Christian Wurst in the 1/8 nitro class and Mugen racer Sebastian Buerge in the 1/10 200mm nitro class are the winner of the third and ultimate round of the new NRW Challenge (NRW = German State North Rhine-Westphalia) which was held at the track of the MCC Rhein-Ahr at Bad Breisig, located at the Rhine river between Bonn and Koblenz. The 254 meter track offered a good grip level and also the weather conditions were quite good with temperatures up to twelve degrees Celsius for this late outdoor racing action which would have deserved some more entries.
