BRCA 1/12th Nationals Round 6

The final race of the 2008 1/12th National series was run last weekend by the Chesterfield Auto Racing Society, who were celebrating their 25th anniversary as a National Host this year. Newly crowned Mod Champion Andy Griffiths, who was sitting on 4th position in qualifying overnight, just managed to secure pole position for the final in Sundays final round, with HB team mate Mick Farrell lining up in 2nd position. BRCA 1/12th Nationals Round 4

The 4th round of the BRCA 1/12th scale Nationals was held last weekend at the Tamworth track and in qualifying for Saturday’s 19T turn event it was Chris Kerswell that claimed the TQ spot ahead of Andy Griffiths in 2nd. In the final, a coming together at the start knocked Griffiths out of contention and Mick Farrell took off after the then leader Kerswell and eventually got passed, but he too fell out of contention and this left Keith Robertson to come from 5th on the grid to take the win. BRCA 1/12th Nationals Round 3

…final it was the top 4 that got away cleanly but a mistake from Griffiths dropped him down the order, and then Keith hit a back marker that knocked him out of the race. This left Chris up in front and he was able to take his first 12th National win from Russ Williams in 2nd and a recovering Andy Griffiths in 3rd. BRCA 1/12th Nationals Round 2

…Keith Robertson that was at the front, taking the win from Chris Kerswell and Matt White. In the Modified class on Sunday, the pole position went to current National Champion and round 1 winner Andy Griffiths but in the final he was made to work for the win having been knocked down the order at the beginning of the race. He managed to regain his pace and worked his way back to the front with a great recovery drive, taking the win from 2nd placed Matt White with 3rd spot going to a very close Mark Stiles. BRCA 1/12th Nationals Round 1

…despite pressure from Keith Robertson he could hold on for the win, with Robertson in 2nd and Mark Stiles in 3rd. The Modified class was a continuation from where National Champion Andy Griffiths left off last year with the Hot Bodies driver taking the pole position ahead of Keith Robertson and Mark Stiles. In the final Andy could get straight into the lead pursued by Robertson and a fast starting Mick Farrell in 3rd, which was how it stayed for the full 8 minutes, Andy taking the win for Hot Bodies ahead of Asso driver Robertson in 2nd and Farrell…

V-Dezign Carpet Ripper ‘07 – Photos

At the beginning of April we brought you some CAD images of the new V-Dezign Carpet Ripper ’07 1/12th scale chassis that was being made by Finnish racer Vesa Yli under the name of V-Dezign. This car had dominated the British National Championship in the hands of Andy Griffiths and had reached the 12th Euros finals in Sweden driven by both Yli and Griffiths. Following this performance V-Dezign has decided to produce this self designed car and has just released the first photos of the upgrade kit showing the rear end, which is the real innovation of the CR ’07….

V-Dezign Carpet Ripper ’07

V-Dezign, the 12th scale conversion makers from Finland, have announced that they will start selling their 07 Carpet Ripper in May. This car has dominated the British Nationals in the hands of Andy Griffiths and also done very well in the Finnish Nationals with car designer Vesa Yli behind the controls and last week the V-Dezign got two cars into the European 1/12th scale A-main final and went on to finish in 4th and 10th at the hands of Griffiths and Yli. Andy Moore is 1/12th European Champion

…the win in the 3rd final and a 2nd place to claim the runner up spot ahead of Swedish driver Alexander Hagberg who claimed a 2nd and a 3rd. Reigning British Champion Andy Griffiths ended up 4th, with 5th place going to German racer Markus Mobers who was followed home by Finnish driver Simo Ahoniemi in 6th.
