Team Orion 4200 SHO

Team Orion are close to releasing 2 new revolutionary, self developed, competition level cells. Set to take the EP world by storm are these 4200MAh SHO, super high output, competition cells that have been specifically developed by Oscar Jansen and the company’s Chinese Engineering development team to be chemically stable, which elimates explosions and cell failure due to self discharge. These are the first cells to be actually made by Team Orion themselves and they promise to deliver great power and long run times, and as an added bonus they can be purchased as hand made packs in saddle or straight 5 or 6 cell configurations, as well as loose. Team Orion have also announced new 2/3 A type cells that use the same chemical structure as the 4200 cells and are great for powering your micro racer or configured as receiver packs that offer long run time and can easily cope with high current servos in both off road and on road cars. Both types of next generation cells will be available to buy in the next 2 weeks.

Slingshot Batteries Line-up

Slingshot Batteries from the US have been in touch to tell us about their current product line-up. Although not new in the US market, Slingshot Batteries has decided to branch out into the overseas market and is offering their line of EP4200 race packs that are available in three different levels, Factory, Team and Super Spec. Just in time for the holidays Slingshot Batteries has also released a full line of stick packs and receiver packs that come in capacity ratings of 3300, 3600, 3800, 4000 and 4200MAh which are perfect for your RTR vehicle or whatever application you have in mind. And finally, Slingshot is proud to introduce its line of 1500MAh EP RX packs that have proven to be one of the longest running cells they have used thus far and is sure to put you through those extra long gas mains. These packs come in either a stick or hump pack configuration and as is the case with all their products, they are built to last and are made from genuine EP “Grade A” cells.

Chris Tosolini wins US Open Fuel Sedans

Chris Tosolini wins Open Fuel Sedan Nats

Last weekend saw the second annual US Open Fuel Sedan Championships held at the Kissimmee track in Florida. The race saw around 70 entries turn up for the 3 day event with 3 qualifying rounds run on Friday, 1 more that originally planned due to Saturday’s weather forecast which turned out be correct and rain caused the cancellation of the further 4 rounds on that day. On Sunday the rain was still there in the morning but it dried up and the finals could be run, including the 20 minute triple A-mains. Starting the each of the main finals from pole position was Xray racer Paul LeMiuex with 2nd and 3rd spot on the grid going to Kyosho racer Chris Tosolini and Serpent runner DJ Apolaro respectively. With two wins, in the first 2 finals, it was Chris Tosolini that came out on top taking the overall win in front of Xray racer Barry Baker in 2nd, scoring three 2nd places, and DJ Apolaro rounding out the podium in 3rd with two 3rd positions.

Team Losi HD Brake Disk Set

Team Losi have announced the release of this HD vented brake disk set, for their 8ight and 8ight T. Machined from special high-thermal mass material, they can withstand very high temperatures for extended periods of time without failure. With brake disk life increased by 250% over the stock set, they offer consistent braking even after long run times, while slots in the disks eliminate caliper float caused by material gassing and the slots also help cool the braking components.
