Featuring a padded construction, the case helps protect against as all kinds of abuse when travelling to races and for ease of transport it comes complete with a handy belt for carrying it on your shoulder. Lopez & Wheeler win Futaba Nitro Challenge

Lopez wins Futaba Nitro Challenge

Last weekend saw the 2007 Futaba Nitro Challenge race run on the HX Raceway in Bossier City, Louisiana. In the 1/8 Pro Buggy A-Main it was an exciting finish between the top 2 driver with Ryan Lopez taking the win with his Xray XB8 EC, while Jason Branham took a close 2nd place, also with the Xray XB8 EC. Both drivers cars were equipped with Advantage Racing Products Ceramic Ball Bearings while Branham also used the company’s High-Temp Brakes. The final step on the podium went to another Xray, that of Josh Wheeler, the Werks sponsored driver had earlier won the truggy class with his Xray XT8.

More batteries from Team Orion with the announcement that they will soon release all new AA and AAA NiMH batteries aimed at enhancing the performance of your Mini-Z or 1:18 vehicles. Packing a whopping 1.25Volts per cell, these AA and AAA’s provide voltage previously only found on high end precision electronic cells. For the 1:18 scales Team Orion are introducing a new 2700 AA cell, increasing the capacity as well as the performance, while for the Mini-Z market they will offer two levels of AAA’s. First for the racer there is the 900HV (High Voltage) for outright performance while for the Hobbyist, where often run time is key, they are releasing the larger capacity 1100RT (Run Time).

More news from Mugen Seiki, this time its to announce the impending release of their new 1/8th scale circuit kit, the MRX-4X. We wrote in detail about this new car when it was first announced at the beginning of August when they started to promote the upgrade set, but now you can soon buy the MRX-4X as a complete kit. As we mentioned before the changes from the MRX-4R includes new shorter rear upper wishbones, new uprights with adjustable offset, front and rear bulkheads with adjustable belt tension, new chassis plate, new front and rear shock towers and a lot more.

Trinity have releasd this pair of aluminium rear hub carriers for the Team Losi 8ight and 8ight-T. Extensively tested by Losi drivers, especially Adam Drake, these anodised hubs are a much stronger alternative to the standard parts and are a simple direct replacement. Available soon.
