2022 AMSCI EP Nats Rd1 at MonacoRC Arena – Report

This weekend the first round of the AMSCI National Championship took place on the MonacoRC Arena indoor track. Thanks to the asphalt surface of the MonacoRC Arena it was possible to see consistent performance with excellent grip for both days of competition. The event was open to 5 classes, Touring Stock 13.5 F1, Touring Stock 13.5 F2, Modified Touring, Touring FWD 17.5 and F1 21.5. In the Touring Stock 13.5 F1 class, the poleman Federico Barbieri, following an unfortunate first final, managed to take home the victory followed by the ever faster Filippo Domanin who despite his very young age is getting us used to seeing him always high in the standings. 2022 1/12th scale Italian Championships Rd1 – Report

The first round of the 2022 edition of the Italian Championships dedicated to 12th scale classes took place at the indoor track of RC Landia in Scandiano. The race kicked off the 2022 sporting season of the Italian RC Car Racing Federation ACI Sport. In GT12, traditionally run in Italy according to BRCA rules (homologated GT12 chassis, 13.5T motors, homologated GT12 bodyshells and Control Tyres), Mattia Dall’Oca (Team Schumacher) showed some rediscovered form and after losing out the TQ to Luca Tassinari during the qualifiers, drove flawlessly in the finals to take the win ahead of Alberto Montecchi (Mon-tech Racing) and Davide Mischiatti (Team Schumacher).

Eldridge & Payne win Rd5 of EssexCarpetClash

Round 5 of EssexCarpetClash4 took place last Sunday, and the drivers entered the venue to a slightly untraditional track layout compared to normal. With the straight in the centre of the track, a cross over and a larger jump for this round, it was a ‘Marmite’ track for the drivers. After heated practice, the 4 rounds of qualifying started with the best 2 to count. Harley Eldridge got to grips with the track straight away taking the top spot in all rounds. Stephen Brown would line up second with Steven Kelly in 3rd beating Lee Hedges on a better time. 2wd saw a number of drivers at the top of the timing sheets, but it was Ollie Payne, that took pole for the final by taking TQ in the first 2 rounds. Billy Fletcher tied on round points with Klye Moon would line up 2nd on the grid having a better round time.

Willspeed RF2 conversion for Cougar LD2

Willspeed have produced their RF2 conversion for the Schumacher Cougar LD2. The conversion platform was designed and manufactured by engineers and racers alike for the true ultimate in performance on medium to high traction surfaces. The RF2 design focuses on moving the weight bias forwards by utilising a 5 gear transmission which allows the motor position to be moved further forwards creating a smaller located area of main mass which aids to control weight transfer. The billet aluminium tub chassis is the ultimate in chassis design, the centre of gravity is super low, the chassis has no additional guards or stiffeners removing unwanted tweak and is self integrally stiff. The aluminium selected for its natural dampening properties this not only allows for an incredibly agile platform its also super predictable. The end result, a platform that not only loves corner speed but it is also dependable and predictable lap after lap making going fast, easy.

The GTI Vision Mini is the first in a series of Mini 1/10 bodies that will be introduced by Mon-tech in 2022. Bittydesign Ahura 1/10 GT 190mm body shell

Bittydesign have released a new product for the 1/10 GT 190mm segment, the all the Ahura body shell. This project was born from the desire to create a body shell outside the box thanks to a futuristic aesthetic, proportions and shapes that make it unique. The body shell is universal and mounts on all 1/10 190mm models, while the wing complies with the measurements as per USGT regulation and can therefore be used at any race. The shapes inspired by a GT3 racing car have been adapted to the proportions and dimensions necessary for use with the 190mm electric models. The design phase took several months to finish every single detail, the attention to detail was obsessive in order to produce a body that could optimise aerodynamics and at the same time remain real in its proportions and aesthetics.
