After the cancellation of the 4th round due to heavy rain the 5th round of 2014 Speed King Tour took place at high speed outdoor track of the Green Park Speedway in the Saitama prefecture. The track is quite new and designed for 1/8th nitro cars and it also suits modern modified electric touring cars well, with speed of over 100km/h reached on the straight. After three qualifying rounds 2013 “Speed King” Yugo Nagashima took TQ with his Yokomo BD7 2014. Bancroft then passed Frost at the 10 minute point and he maintained his position to finish a good third. The battle for 2nd place was more intense with Joe Kerry holding the position from Mark Green at the start. The 4th round of the 2014 BRCA 1/8th Circuit National Championship was held at the Adur circuit to the South of London. This track this the smallest on the current calendar and in relation to Formula One, this is like being at Monaco since the true potential of a current 1/8th scale car is never realised to its maximum. With all the championship contenders present except for Bancroft who was preparing for the ENS, the competition up front would be close. …Josh Ford laid it down in A3 to seal 2nd overall followed by Kevin Tomsovic. The last Nitro main would be the Nitro Buggy. TQ would be Tyler Jones with the only two 17 lap runs for the entire weekend, round 1 on Green Hybrids and round 3 on test Dirt Webs in Green.
