Coelho is Top Qualifier at ENS opener

…Dominic Greiner to take Q4 and with it secure 2nd on the grid ahead of his Serpent team-mate Alessio Mazzeo. Mazzeo was the only one who could deny Coelho the overall TQ but the Q2 pace setter’s engine ran rich over the opening laps which was enough to leave him with a P2 in the very closely match World class driver line-up. For reigning champion Jilles Groskamp he will start his title defence from 6th on the grid behind Mark Green (P4) and former champion Erik Dankel (P5). Salemi suprises with TQ run in Q2

…in Italy. Having sent out a warning to his rivals in Q1 when from the second fastest heat he posted a P4 time, the BP Racing driver would outpace reigning champion Dario Balestri by half a second on his second attempt. Behind them Carmine Raiola would make it an all Italian Top 3 with his Infinity just outpacing the Mugen of Germany’s Robert Pietsch. In 1:10, Serpent’s Alessio Mazzeo made up for a mistake in Q1, to TQ ahead of team-mate Mark Green with Mugen’s Erik Dankel third. Balestri & Coelho take opening ENS qualifier

Dario Balestri and Bruno Coelho have claimed the first round of qualifying at the Euro Nitro Series season opener in Italy. The reigning 1:8 Champion, Balestri topped the times from Robert Pietsch while in 1:10 Coelho was fastest over the 4-minutes from the touring car class’ reigning champion Jilles Groskamp. Serpent opens ENS#3 with strong 1:10 practice

Serpent have opened the 2016 Euro Nitro Series season with a strong show of force as their drivers locked out the Top 3 in controlled practice in Bologna, Italy, this morning. With drivers getting two rounds of controlled practice which will determine the heat seeding, it was last year’s season finale winner Alessio Mazzeo who set the pace around the high speed L.Collari RC Raceway. Mark Green & Glyn Beal win at Cotswold

The nicely elevated track of Cotswald saw a round of the BRCA nitro on-road nationals and in the 1/10th 200mm class it was Mark Green who took the TQ honours and he would also take the day’s win from Joe Kerry in second and Alex Thurston in third. In the 1/10th GT 220mm category Glyn Beal was very fast again, taking the TQ and win from Hellawell in second and Kozakiewicz in third. Green & Beal win at BRCA 1/10th Nitro on-road nats

The opening round of the BRCA 1/10t Nitro On-road Nationals was held at the fast and technical Wombwell Raceway in cold but dry weather conditions. Mark Green (Serpent/XRD) would take the TQ position in the premier 1/10th 200mm class while Glyn Beal (Serpent) came out fastest in the 1/10th 235mm GT and the 1/8th GT categories. Thurston & Beal win at BRCA 1/10th Nitro Nats Rd7

…weekend. In the 1/10th 200mm class Alex Thurston made a perfect qualifier to take the TQ and converting the pole in to a win in front of Joe Kerry and Mark Green. This result for Alex puts him in a very good position to take the 200mm UK title at the next round. In the 220 GT class Glyn Beal also converted his perfect driving and car prep to take a dominate TQ in qualifying.
