Round 3 of the Italian ACI 1/8th Buggy Championship was held at the Ongaro Ring this past weekend. The event was cut short a day due to the weather forecast and in the end it was Team Associated’s 1/8th Buggy World Champion, Davide Ongaro with the TQ and win in the Expert class, leaving behind Xray’s Marco Baruffolo in 2nd. Kyosho’s Mattia Polito came in 3rd to round out the Expert class podium result.

The fifth and final round of the BRCA 1/8th Rally X Nationals was held at the Slough track this past weekend. SWorkz’s Elliott Boots was in control of things all weekend, taking the TQ, win and with it the overall championship in style. Infinity’s Lee Martin came in 2nd at the season finale from Team Associated’s Jamie Clancy in 3rd. Overall in the championship and behind Elliott it was Jamie Clancy with the vice-championship from Agama’s Jonathan Skidmore, who suffered clutch issues in the A-main final but with an 11th place he still was able to secure an overall top 3 result.

PSM have announced the release of their new DTC Delta Traction Characteristics aluminium main chassis plate for the Team Associated B74 buggy. Developed to improve the B74’s performance, especially in medium to low grip track conditions, the DTC chassis features delta shaped pockets to provide soft torsional flex characteristics along with consistent performance. The soft flex allows the buggy to generate more mechanical grip, which is very helpful in low grip conditions and/or when running on tight and technical tracks. A special coating process provides a stealth black look along with super smooth surface finish. An additional PTFE coating makes for optimised surface gliding characteristics. The chassis features a unique LCG weight distribution system, which allows the owner to add up to 24 optional weight inlays, a total of 34g, at predefined locations with out modifying the torsional characteristics of the chassis or adding up to its original thickness. Thanks to this the driver can fine-tune the balance the chassis pretty easily. The additional brass weights are available in gold or silver colour, depending on the driver’s colour taste.
Samix have announced the release of three different titanium suspension link sets for the Element RC Enduro trail trucks. Available are a 2-piece long and short steering link set, an 8-piece high-clearance front and rear lower link kit, as well as a 10-piece set containing all of the above. The links are machined from high-quality titanium material for a low weight and exceptional stability and they come with etched markings for easy identification. The parts fit the standard Enduro rod ends and the suspension links make for a 313mm wheelbase configuration.
Tekno RC have announced the soon release of their new NB48 2.0 1/8th scale nitro off-road buggy. Utilising a completely new platform compared to the previous .4 kit, the 2.0 prototype was tested extensively by Tekno RC’s world wide team of factory drivers and it will be based on a new 3mm CNC-machined 7075 aluminium hard-anodised and lightened chassis. Other features include independent servo mounts with decoupled battery and radio boxes, CNC 7075 shock towers, pivot blocks, and motor mounts, rear hub and arm inserts for adjustable roll centre and toe, a long arm, narrow pivot suspension geometry, 1-piece wing mount and ultra-lightweight wing as well as a 2nd generation quick fuelling body. The fifth and final round of the Swiss 1/10th Electric Off-road Nationals was hosted by the TIT club last weekend. The bumpy and unpredictable track was a rear challenge for the drivers and in the 4WD Modified Buggy class it was Kay Frehner with the overall TQ but tyre problems in A1 meant he scored a DNF which allowed Philip Jeisy to take the win in the opening A-main. A2 then was a much easier affair for the TQ holder as Kay walked away with the win. A3 then was a 3-horse battle between Kay, Philip and Florian Schmid but ultimately it was Kay with the win and the overall from Philip Jeisy in 2nd and Florian Schmid in 3rd, making it an Xray top 3 finish. However it was Nico Schmid who was able to bring home the overall title in 4WD Modified Buggy.

Reds Racing have introduced a their new S Line nitro off-road engine, the 721 Corsa. The 3.5cc 7-ports power plant is based on the S Line 721 Scuderia engine and the main focus was to release an engine similar to 721 Scuderia but at a more reasonable price. Both engines feature high reliability, tuning stability and great fuel mileage which was achieved by using new materials for the piston, sleeve and crankcase in order to optimise thermal expansion and power. The Corsa comes equipped with a precision machined, balanced steel crankshaft, steel bearings and a polished aluminium endplate and it will hit stores very soon.
