Branislav Panak wins at Timar Laszlo Memorial Race

The Timar Laszlo Memorial Race was held at the Morac-Ring track near Graz in Austria recently. The weekend kicked off with free practice on Friday with qualifying starting on Saturday noon with both days being affected by the weather. Xray’s Branislav Panak would lead qualifying in the damp and he also led the dry main final from tone to tone to take the win on Saturday some two laps in front of Anton Sloboda (Xray) while Filip Uher (Xray) came in 3rd another three laps down.

Nacho Lopez takes Spanish 1/8th IC Track title

Round 3 of the Spanish IC Track Nationals was held in Valladolid this past weekend. In the 1/8th IC Track category Victor Gonzalez took the overall TQ some three seconds in front of Nacho Lopez as Ruben Olivares came in 3rd after the qualifiers. The 45-minute main final than had Nacho coming out on top, a lap in front of Ruben was Victor had to settle for 3rd overall, another lap down. With the win, Nacho also took home the national title.

DJ Apolaro TQs & wins at IFMAR GT Worlds warm-up race

The IFMAR GT Pre-Worlds race was held in Homestead, Florida last week with IGT8’s DJ Apolaro walking away with the overall TQ and win in the ROAR 5-Port Spec class. The hour-long A-main final saw Paolo Morganti (IGT8) coming in 2nd, a close 2.3 seconds behind DJ as Super Pole winner, IGT8’s Lazaro Alonso ended the race in 3rd, only nine seconds behind the winner. Serpent’s Joaquin Desoto Jr. came in 4th, some three laps behind the top 3 as Fabrizio Martello (IGT8) completed the top 5 results another three laps down.

Wang & Tyler win at Sven Böhringer Family Reunion

Timezone Raceway of Battle Ground, Washington played host to the annual Sven Böhringer Family Reunion race, attracting over 150 entries in the six cases of 1/8th Masters, 1/8th Open, GT8, 1/10th 200mm Nitro, Touring Modified and Touring 17.5T Stock. In Touring Modified, drawing nearly 30 entries, it was Xray‘s JJ Wang with the overall TQ some 0.019s in front of Xray teammate, Korey Harbke. After the triple A-main events it was still JJ on top, thanks to winning A2 and A3 for the overall as Korey had to settle for 2nd with 1-2-5 finishes. 8th place qualifier, Yokomo‘s Randy Caster came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Naoto Matsukura takes JMRCA S-EX Touring title

The All-Japan Electric Touring Nationals were held in Suwa, Nagano this past weekend. In the premier S-EX Modified class it was Infinity’s Naoto Matsukura with the overall TQ and he also came out on top in the opening two A-mains to take the overall title with the final A-main to spare. Yokomo’s Hayato Ishioka came in 2nd while Infinity’s Akio Sobue rounded out the top 3 podium result.

Arrowmax Medius mid-motor conversion kits

Arrowmax is the latest company to announce the release of mid-motor conversion kits for the popular Xray T4 and Yokomo BD9 touring cars. The Medius called kits base on 2.25mm US weave carbon or 2.0mm machined aluminium chassis with 2.0mm carbon fibre upper decks and they utilise redesigned single-piece 7075 alloy motor mounts and centre pulleys. Included with the kits also come chassis stiffeners that allows to adjust chassis flex to suit current track conditions or driving styles. Arrowmax promise increased cornering speed, traction and steering in addition to improved ease of driving. The kits are meant to ship by the end of the month.

Infinity IF14 titanium ball end 4.9mm set

Infinity has released a set of high-precision 4.9mm titanium ball ends for their IF14 1/10 electric touring car. Offering an approximate 8g – or 47 percent – weight reduction compared to the kit’s standard steel ball ends, the polished finish of the ball surface ensures smooth movement over long periods of use. Supplied as a kit of 20 pieces, each of the sizes – short, medium and long – are available separately as a pack of four.
