Ethan Lefebvre doubles at ROAR Region 9 champs

Thornhill Racing Circuit held the ROAR Region 9 championship last weekend. Ethan Lefebvre took the TQ in both classes in Q1, however Q2 saw Tyler Hooks taking the TQ in Q2 of Expert Nitro Buggy while Rocco Margiotta came out on top in Nitro Truggy. Q3 of Nitro Buggy saw Tyler and Ethan having a very close battle through the hole qualifier but Ethan was able to just take the win and overall TQ and he was also able to top qualify the Nitro Truck class. In the mains Ethan was able to get clean starts in both and lead both from start to finish to give him a double Region 9 Championship. Tyler Hooks and Rocco Margiotta would come in 2nd and 3rd respectively in Expert Nitro Buggy as Rocco Margiotta and Miguel Villalobos rounded out the Truggy podium result.

Infinity high speed fuel stick

With quick and precise refuelling key to success in nitro racing, World Champions Infinity have released a high speed fuel stick to assist mechanics with making ultra quick fuel stops for their drivers. The wide cylinder body offers a strong grip during refuelling with the fuel released by the operation of a carbon trigger. The fuel stick features a guard to prevent accidental operation.

HRC Distribution have introduced the new Roapex Renegade tyre for 1/8th monster trucks. Coming pre-mounted the tyre is moulded form a soft high-quality rubber, ensuring exceptional traction on a variety of surfaces. The tyre comes comes in pairs, glued to black colour 17mm hex split 5-spoke rims.

Yeah Racing Top Force graphite upgrade kit

Coming from Yeah Racing and made for Tamiya’s re-release Top Force 1/10th scale 4WD buggy is a graphite upgrade kit. The set includes precision-cut chassis, top deck and shock tower parts that are a direct replacement for the standard black fibreglass items. The conversion kit offers improved strength and rigidity, allowing for better handling especially in high-bite track conditions.

JConcepts INS8 finals – Report

This year’s JConcepts Indoor National Series’ final round was hosted by Beach RC and Hobbies located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. With the race being in December, this summer hotspot was cool as a cucumber, but nonetheless, a great opportunity to visit one of the best indoor tracks on the east coast. With the Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall editions of the INS8 already accounted for, this was the last chance racers had to improve their results for a chance at the highly coveted overall class championships. Uniquely known for its square track dimensions, Beach RC has quickly become a racer’s favorite and some are even calling it a ‘bucket list‘ track. One of the beauties about Beach RC is the awesome clay dirt that provides a ton of grip with very little dust. The direct result is a killer driving experience for all drivers from beginner to expert. When the track was green, you broke out the treads and when the track started drying throughout the weekend, you ran ghost pins or slicks. It was pretty easy.

Xray X8 graphite centre diff mounting plate set

Xray have introduced a graphite-reinforced centre diff mounting plate set for the XB8 1/8th scale buggy. The specially formulated composite material offers increased strength and a lower weight while being extremely heat resistant, offering improved stability then running long mains or when the ambient temperatures are high. The sets includes a single bulkhead side, consisting of an upper and lower case, as well as a brake disc guide.

SkyRC Toro TS150 Pro 1/8th speed controller

Coming soon from SkyRC is their new Toro TS150 Pro brushless speed controller for 1/8th scale vehicles. Designed for buggies, trucks and monster trucks but also usable for 1/8th on-road kits, the 150A-rated controller offers an aluminium heatsink case, a 6V high-power BEC system with up to 8A, as well as a multitude of software features that include adjustable timing as well as throttle and brake curve adjustment to name just a few. The controller is adjustable using SkyRC’s Progbox or WiFi module and it comes including a heavy duty fan unit that is meant to be a lot more durable compared to standard fans – even when running in demanding track conditions and on track with large jumps.
