Dirk Wischnewski is the man to beat at the German Championship 1/10 200mm nitro, when the final will be held on Sunday at the 220 meter track at Türkheim in the south of Germany. The European Champion and reigning champion in Germany did 23 laps in 5.01,009 minutes in his best heat and with a 12,9 second lap he was the only driver of the field of the 77 competitors to break through the 13 seconds barrier. With his Orcan LR3 powered Xray NT1 he achieved a nearly two seconds advantage over Xray/Orcan fellow Eric Dankel, who did 23 laps…

…with 39,324 seconds in front of Guensel with 39,691 and Kroeber with 39,915: Fourth position went to Michael Salven with 40,002 seconds for three laps with his Serpent 733. Behind Ralf Krause (Xray/40,008), René Puepke ( 40,128) was the quickest Mugen racer on sixth position. The top 10 were completed by Eric Dankel (Xray), Kai-Oliver Guttschau (Serpent), Karl-Heinz Meister (Serpent) and Christian Wimbverger (Xray). Patrick Schaefer, a non-regular driver in 1/10, achieved 15th position with his new Shepherd Velox V10. …second place between Wood, North and Hicklin with only a second on the tarmac separating these cars. The times improved but due to errors by Richard Hicklin towards the end of his remaining qualifying runs prevented him Challenging North and Wood. Peter Hastings was in a comfortable 5th position ahead of Adam Catchpole with his new Serpent 966 chassis and Mega engine combination. Chris Heath however failed to make the top 10.
