Josh Cyrul wins at U.S Indoor Championships

The 2018 U.S. Indoor Championships were held in Independence, Ohio last weekend in several electric on-road classes. In the hotly contested Formula category it was CRC’s Tom Firsching with the overall TQ but after the single 5-minute A-main it was Capricorn’s Josh Cyrul, coming from the 2 spot on the grid, who would snatch the title some 0.074 seconds in front of Tom. Only 0.5 second back, CRC’s Jeff Dayger rounded out the top 3 result.

HRC Racing 68110DL low-profile servo

Coming from HRC Distribution is the new HRC Racing 68110DL low-profile servo. Designed for 1/10th scale touring and off-road applications where precision, high speed and exceptional torque are required the standard voltage servo offers down to 0.08s of speed and a torque of up to 10.5kg-cm. The case is made up of upper and lower nylon fibre cases with the middle section being made of aluminium. A coreless motor and sturdy metal gears round out the package.

T-Works BD9 carbon fibre bumper plate & battery strap

T-Works have introduced two new carbon fibre option parts for the Yokomo BD9 touring car in the form of a upper bumper mount plate and a battery strap. The bumper plate will replace the standard composite part, ensuring improved looks and greater stability. The graphite part comes including alloy bushings and mounting hardware. Also new is the carbon fibre battery strap as a replacement for the standard composite part. The strap will add visual impact for a cool factory look while improving safety due to being much stronger.

Following a couple of teasers on social media, Protoform have officially introduced their all-new Europa 190mm FWD touring car body shell. The lid takes styling cues from popular European hot hatches competing in full-scale TCR classes around the globe. With aggressive fender flares and a slammed hatchback roofline, the Europa is bound to make a statement at your track. At the rear of the body, moulded in wing platforms support the add-on nylon wing struts and wing to complete the super scale look. Designed and produced using the latest in 3D CAD and 5-axis CNC technology, Europa’s detailing, symmetry and overall quality of surfaces is second-to-none. This body will fit any popular 190mm touring car chassis. It’s produced in our high-quality, lightweight polycarbonate for a low centre of gravity, and includes a detailed decal sheet with windshield header and number plates, window masks, and paint-then-peel overspray film.

Fenix release new X1 option parts

Coming from Fenix and made for the Xray X1 1/10th scale formula chassis are several new option parts. First up is a new top deck kit that allows for full chassis flex while countering pitch flex and tweak. The set includes a carbon fibre servo mount and a front battery/shock absorber plate, two aluminium turnbuckles and necessary mounting hardware.

South East GT12 regional Rd2 – Report

The South East GT12 Regional series recently continued at the Eastbourne Electric Car Club with round 2. The drivers were treated to a fast and technical layout and again a slightly smaller track was chosen. These smaller tracks are providing some great racing. A great entry of 27 GT12, six LMP and one heat of MTC as a support classes saw a total entry of 39 drivers. As the racing got underway the early pace setters were a fast and consistent Owen Smith in GT12, followed by Niall Cochran and Tim Hancock. After four rounds of qualifying Owen came out on top by five seconds from Niall, 3rd was Tim and Gavin Clinch completing the top 4.

Oliver Krähemann wins at SIC Rd1

The opening round of the Swiss Indoor Championship was held as part of the FAMA expo in Bulle near Freiburg. Almost 70 drivers signed in for the 2-day event and in Touring Modified it was Oliver Krähemann (Xray) with the win from Carl Friedrich Gössel (Infinity) on the 2 spot. Philipp Huber (Team Magic) came in 3rd and in front of Renato Isler and Marco Balmer (both Team Magic).

Zero Tribe BD9 carbon fibre option parts

Zero Tribe from Japan are currently developing new carbon fibre option parts for the all-new Yokomo BD9 touring car. First up are updated front and rear shock towers whose design allows to use the shock absorbers with increased overall length, making it easier to use aftermarket shock springs and achieve proper ride height settings with these. Also under development is a narrow design top deck that carries over Zero Tribe’s T4 design for optimised chassis flex characteristics.
