Team Orion Vortex VDS2-HV Pro alloy case servos

Team Orion have introduced their new Vortex VDS-2HV Pro full-aluminium case servos. The VDS2-HV PRO 1605 HS Aluminium (0.05s/16kg-cm) and VDS2-HV PRO 2607 HS Aluminium (0.07s/26kg-cm) both feature an all-aluminium case for durability, making them especially useful in demanding nitro and 1/8th scale classes. The coreless motor digital servos are high-voltage compatible and can be used with 2S LiPo receiver packs or the high voltage BEC setting of brushless controllers.

David Ronnefalk gets the job done in Italy

The 2017 edition of the The Italian Job Race was held at the Alseno Nicolas track in Italy this past weekend. As usual the event attracted the country’s fastest drivers as well as guests from abroad and one of them would be HB Racing’s David Ronnefalk who took the win in the 45-minute Pro Nitro Buggy A-main encounter. David qualified 2nd behind Team Associated’s Davide Ongaro and in the main he would take a convincing win some 30 seconds in front of the newly-crowned European Champion, Robert Batlle (Mugen). Young Mattia Polito (TLR) would take the final podium spot some two laps down.

Techra YZ-2 bulkhead mount with brass weights

Coming from Techra and made for the Yokomo YZ-2 buggy are aluminium front bulkheads mounts with removable brass weights. The mounts are machined from black anodised 7075 aluminium and they special design allows to add 9g brass weights, something that can be beneficial in bumpy or slippery track conditions. In addition to adding weight the option part also takes away a bit of chassis flex, helping with steering precision and emphasis on high-bite surfaces.

Cragg & Martin take BRCA 1/10th Buggy titles

The final round of the BRCA 1/10th Buggy National Championship was held at Stotfold Model Car Club this past weekend. The 2WD event, run on Saturday, saw Team Associated’s Neil Cragg excel as he took the TQ, triple wins in the A-mains and with it the overall championship to cap off a successful season. In 4WD, run on Sunday, it was Lee Martin with Yokomo’s forthcoming YZ-4S who was the man to beat and ultimately he would take home a dominant TQ and win for the overall championship title.

STRC introduce TRX-4 aluminium option parts

Coming from ST Racing Concepts and made for the Traxxas TRX-4 trail truck is a range of aluminium option parts. First up and made to improve the durability and adding more weight to the drive axles are CNC machined outer portal drive housings and the rear axle portal mount. These option parts greatly improve the durability of the drivetrain and add a bit more weight lower to the ground for more stability.

2017 Korea TLR Masters – Report

This past weekend saw the 2017 Korea TLR Masters being held at the GRC Circuit in KimPo, Korea. 55 racers attended the event that was held in 2WD and 4WD Modified and Stock classes and in 2WD Modified Buggy it was Jeff Joo with the win from Jeongu Lee 2nd and Seunghwan Ra 3rd.

Jason Nugroho wins Indonesia Buggy Champ Rd4

Round 4 of the Indonesia National Buggy Championship was held this past weekend at the Banana RC Track in Batam, Indonesia. A total of 43 drivers from Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Medan, Banjarmasin, Kendari, as well as local drivers signed in for the event that originally saw six rounds of 10-minute qualifying with the best four to count. Unfortunately and due to rain on qualifying day, the race director had to cut qualifying short that now only consisted of four rounds with the best two to count. Ultimately it was Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) with the TQ for the main final that also had to cut short due to weather and available day light. In end it was again Jason who excelled in the 45-minute main with Stanley Wangsanegara (HB Racing/O.S.) in 2nd and Adrian Sutanto (Kyosho/O.S.) rounding out the podium in 3rd.

Reedy Pro LiPo/LiFe RX & TX battery packs

Reedy have introduced their new range of Pro LiPo and LiFe RX/TX batteries that feature high capacities and durable construction, which make them perfectly suited for use as receiver batteries in nitro-powered vehicles. They are also a long-life alternative to NiMH and alkaline batteries in a variety of transmitters. A standard power plug fits directly into the transmitter or receiver/switch harness while a XH balance connector allows for simple balance charging. The LiPo batteries are available as 2400mAh 7.4V flat or 2700mAh 7.4V hump pack while the LiFe packs come as 1600mAh 6.6V flat or 1900mAh 6.6V hump variant.
