Adam Drake wins at Toys for Tots race

Palm Desert R/C Raceway hosted the 13th Annual Toys for Tots Race this past weekend with the event having nearly 80 entries. In the Pro Buggy class Adam Drake set the pace in both rounds of qualifying and started first in the 25 minute final. Drake went on to win the 25-minute final followed by Mugen Seiki teammate Anthony Westergaard, and Team Associated’s Richard Saxton. Elsewhere in the electric buggy class Anthony Westergaard was the top qualifier and won the 10-minute final from Cole Jenson and Marcus Garrett.

Joona Haatanen doubles at Winter Jumps series

A round of the Finnish Winter Jumps series was held in the Helsinki area this past weekend. The event was organised by Finland’s biggest RC club, Fullspeed RC and Joona Haatanen was once again the fastest driver of weekend as he TQ’d and won both the 2WD and 4WD classes. In 2WD the best of the rest was lead by local star Tuomo Otsavaara from Mikko Luopajärvi in 3rd.

Hot Race Tyres announce updated buggy tyres

Italian company Hot Race Tyres have introduced a new sidewall design for their 1/8th buggy tyres. The updated design features a reinforced sidewall with the new structure greatly improving the tyre performance even in very hot ambient temperatures while reducing the tread wear at the same time. The update is a running change with the new tyres hitting stores this week.

2017/18 Ruddog Cup Rd1 – Report

Last weekend the opening round of the 2017/18 Ruddog Cup took place at the RC-Indoor-Arena in Köstendorf, Austria. Both of the Modified Off-road classes were dominated by Patrick Hofer, who took the win in 2WD and 4WD Modified Buggy. In 2WD he was followed by Michael Kloibhofer and Martin Lindner while in the 4WD class it was Christian Wukonig and Andreas Mayr who took the final podium spots.

Xray Racing Series Austria Rd1 – Report

Round 1 of the Xray Racing Series Austria was held at the small and technical track of the Carpet Brothers in Leopoldsdorf in the east of Vienna. The mains were run with 10-car fields, making for some eventful and hectic races. In the end it was Hupo Hönigl with the win in the 2WD Buggy class from Lucas Grainer 2nd and Peter Lonscar 3rd. Roland Hauleitner would come in 4th from Thomas Pumpler 5th.

T-Works NB48.4 titanium turnbuckle set

Coming from T-Works and made for the Tekno RC NB48.4 buggy is a titanium turnbuckle set. Including a total of seven turnbuckles for the camber and steering links as well as a smaller one for the servo link, the set is made to replace the standard turnbuckles with high-quality 64 grade titanium links and it also includes 4mm and a 5mm turnbuckle wrenches.

Berton & Ongaro take KRacing Winter Edition wins

The inaugural KRacing Winter Edition race was held at the La Nucia track in Spain this past weekend. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Team Associated’s Davide Ongaro with the TQ from Mugen’s Robert Batlle and Team Associated driver Tom Robin. In the main final however it was Kyosho’s Riccardo Berton, coming from way down the field, who scored a popular win from Davide in 2nd as Kyosho’s João Figueiredo snatched the final podium spot. Alex Zanchettin (Tekno) came in 4th, Robert Batlle had to settle for 5th overall after some problems. Over in 1/8th E-Buggy it was also Davide Ongaro (Team Associated) with the overall TQ and by scoring wins in the opening two A-mains he would also take the overall victory from Mugen’s Robert Batlle 2nd and Tekno’s Alex Zanchettin 3rd.

Team Associated RC28T RTR micro race truck

Team Associated have re-released the RC10T competition truck, however probably not in the form many vintage fans are looking for. The new RC28T is a shrunk version of AE’s iconic, ROAR nationals winning, and pretty sought-after kit, with the palm-sized truck coming with everything needed in one box. The package includes a 2.4GHz 2-channel transmitter, and the 147mm long truck comes factory-assembled with an integrated receiver and speed controller unit, an integrated proportional servo and of course the a replica body shell with the classic RC10T livery.
