Hitec D930SW, D954SW & D955TW digital servos

Hitec have expanded their range of premium-class D-series servos with three new high speed and high torque variants. The D930SW (0.07s/13.0kg-cm), D954SW (0.12s/29kg-cm) and D955TW (0.12s/20kg-cm) are powered by a 32-bit microcontroller unit with a 12-bit analog to digital converter for rapid, high resolution response. Coreless metal brush motors, long-life potentiometers as well as dual ball bearings make for high durability while nylon reinforced plastic upper and lower cases in combination with aluminium heatsink middle sections make for low weights as well as exceptional dust and splash water resistance. All servos are widely programmable, they are high-voltage compatible and the SW types feature precision-cut steel gears while the TW variant comes with a lightweight yet durable titanium gear train.

Hönigl & Pinisch win at Austrian EP Buggy Nats Rd2

The second round of the Austrian 1/10th Electric Off-road Nationals was held up north close to the Czech border at the dirt track of the GMAC Litschau. Low temperatures and a strong wind on Saturday cleaned the track which resulted in good traction – something Hupo Hönigl made maximum use of to grab the overall TQs in both the 4WD and 2WD classes. On Sunday though things changed a lot as hot temperatures left the track dusty and slippery. At the end of the day Hupo was able to convert his 4WD pole position into a win while in 2WD it was Peter Pinisch who took home the win while Hupo struggled a bit with his buggy’s setup.

MCD Racing 160mm Rally-Xross tyres

Turkish company MCD have introduced new 160mm Rally-Xross wheels and tyres for their line of rally cars and buggies. The tyres make for a lower centre of gravity thanks to their reduced 160mm diameter while the higher sidewalls help to get the power to the ground better especially on rough and rutted surfaces. They also increase cornering traction on gravel and dusty tarmac tracks. The tyre are available separately or on rally-style wheels in blue soft or medium compound.

Daniel Kobbevik successful at Summer Champs

The Hveren Raceway of Oslo, Norway played host to the 4WD portion of the popular Summer Champs race. Xray’s Daniel Kobbevik would set the early pace by winning all three qualifiers to take the overall TQ from Serpent driver Marius Kristiansen and Schumacher’s Steffen Larsen. The opening A-main then was smooth sailing for Daniel who took a convincing win from Marius and Steffen. A2 was pretty much a blue print of the opening main with Daniel looking smooth and controlled while others struggled to follow his pace. Behind him it was again Marius and Steffen for the top 3. For A3 Daniel opted to sit out to not disturb the race for the final podium spots. After some eventful five minutes it was Marius Mossum (Xray) with the win from Steffen Larsen and Magne Kobbevik, giving a podium result of Daniel, Marius Kristensen and Marius Mossum.

RDRP B64 carbon fibre shock towers

Revolution Design Racing Products have introduced new carbon fibre shock towers for the Team Associated B64 series of 1/10th scale 4WD buggies. First up is the front shock stay that utilises the standard kit geometry but sports an updated design for improved looks and greater durability, making it especially useful on those demanding dirt and astro turf tracks. The rear shock tower, just like the front part, is cut to match the standard kit geometry and it sports an updated design for improved looks and greater durability, but on top of this an additional lower row of rear camber link mounting holes allows for an optimised rear roll centre which can be beneficial in a variety of track conditions. Both the front and rear shock stays are cut from high-quality carbon fibre, they are available separately and fit the B64 and B64D buggies.

Xray XB8 series soft, ribbed shock membranes

Coming from Xray and made for the XB8 series of buggies, trucks and cars are soft, ribbed shock absorber volume compensators. The membranes are of a softer material than stock which results in reduced shock rebound, making them ideal for bumpy or high speed tracks. Internal ribbings ensure they maintain their shape even when the going gets tough as does the heavy duty rubber material. The membranes come in sets of four and they fit the XB8, XT8 and GTX8 kits.
