Hampus Berg sweeps Indoor Buggy Masters

The final round of the Swedish Indoor Buggy Masters series was held at the HB Racing/Team Orion racetrack this past weekend. Going into the final round teammates David Ronnefalk and Hampus Berg were both tie on points in the 2WD class while the 4WD title was already taken by Hampus. The race was held in a Reedy-style format and going into the final heat Hampus had scored five wins while David had three wins on his belt so far. With the best four rounds to count and the best round being the tie-breaker, David was on a very good pace in his last heat and Hampus started to look nervous. During the leg, David would jump short in a double which caused a quick visit on the roof, however the forecast said it was still possible for him to set the fastest round for the day. However, in the end Hampus managed to keep the fastest round for the day but the final round had no influence in the overall result.

Hagberg & Neumann crowned 1/12th scale Euro Champs

The 2020 edition of the EFRA European 1/12th scale On-road Championships was held at the Racing Arena Limburg indoor track in Sittard, The Netherlands over the weekend. The field of drivers was a bit smaller than expected, possibly because of the IFMAR Worlds being held recently. However, the level of competition was really high, with tough fights in both the stock and modified classes. This was further fuelled by a really technical track layout that was laid out on a brand new ETS carpet. In the Modified class it was Alexander Hagberg who would set the early pace, however he had a tough start to qualifying, as a couple of mistakes set him back in Q1. Things worked out a lot better in Q2, as a change in tyre prep made his car work better from the start of the run. Alex was able to TQ all rounds onwards to award him the top qualifying spot for the triple A-finals on the Sunday.

Kapicka & Mara win at Czech Masters Series Rd6

This past weekend saw the running of round 6 of the Czech Masters Series in Prague. The March edition of the popular series saw the attendance of almost 100 drivers that were faced with a fast track layout and some new obstacles. In the 2WD Buggy class it was SWorkz’s Jiri Mara with the overall TQ after the three rounds of qualifying. Some close fights between Honza Kapicka (Kyosho)and Jiri Mara made the A-main finals pretty dramatic. Ultimately Honza took A1 and A3 for a maiden overall victory in the series while Jiri Mara had to settle for the runner-up spot. The top 3 result was completed by Marcel Dostál (Xray). Over in the 4WD Buggy class it was again Jiri Mara with the overall TQ as Vaclav Strupek (Xray) came in 2nd on the grid. When the dust had settled after the A-mains, it was still Jiri on the top spot with Vaclav in 2nd. Tomas Kapicka (Kyosho) would complete the top 3 result.
