Coelho tops practice in Xiamen

On the completion of free practice at the 2WD World Championships in Xiamen it is Bruno Coelho who appears to have the early advantage, the Xray driver heading a European trio at the top of the time sheets.  Having set the fastest 3-consecutive laps in the second of the four practice rounds, the reigning 4WD Champion showed his pace was genuine when he topped the final practice with an identical time with a 1:15.929 compared to his FP2 time of 1:15.911. Having not really featured in early practice, sitting P17 after two runs, Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski would go fastest in FP3 with his 1:16.002 time leaving him second fastest overall. Also finding a big improvement in FP3 was David Ronnefalk with his time good enough for 3rd overall, the HB Racing driver the only one to match Coelho with a 24-second lap of the challenging track. The fastest driver counting his time from the final practice, Kyosho’s Kohta Akimoto would end P4 with Ryan Mayfield the best of the offroad power house that is North America in 5th followed by Ty Tessmann.

Coelho leads the way China in early 2WD practice

With the first two rounds of free practice complete at the 2WD Offroad World Championships in China complete it is Bruno Coelho who leads the way. The Xray driver set the fastest 3-consecutive laps on his second run to top the times by a massive 2.5-seconds from Naoto Matsukura after posting a fastest lap of 24.788. With things much more closely bunched from P2 to P6, the five drivers separated by 3/10ths of second it was Jared Tebo, the last 2WD World Champion on dirt who completed the Top 3 ahead of Ty Tessmann, Joern Neumann and Dakotah Phend. With 4WD Champion Coelho fastest in contrast reigning 2WD Champion Spencer Rivkin, who celebrates his 19th birthday today in Xiamen, found himself 13th fastest.

Xray XT2 2018 1/10th 2WD stadium truck kit

Xray have introduced the 2018 variant of their EOS and US Championship winning XT2 1/10th 2WD stadium truck kit. The main difference from the previous version is the inclusion of both carpet and dirt-specific gearbox setups in the kit, allowing to built the truck for high and low grip conditions right out of the box. Included are both laydown and standup gearboxes, a gear differential for high-grip and a ball diff for low-grip surfaces, as well as hard and medium compound suspension plastics, carbon and composite rear shock towers, and also two battery brace setup, upper brace mounts and a composite gear cover. Also part of the updated package is a new, short front chassis brace that allows to mount graphite chassis side guards to adjust chassis flex and an updated outer steering link mount increases reliability. The kit is rounded out by new lower shock absorber bushings for more precise shaft movement, new shock O-rings for better sealing and shock performance as well as new suspension pin washers that prevent the pivot shafts from moving. The kit will hit stores very soon.

Yannic Prümper returns to Yokomo factory team

Yokomo have announced the return of Germany’s Yannic Prümper to their factory team. Yannic grew up using Yokomo cars and buggies and he now comes back to the iconic Japanese manufacturer following a stint with other brands. Prümper will use the BD8-2018, YZ-2 and YZ-4SF platforms in his upcoming campaign that will see attendances at events such as the ETS, EOS and major races in Europe. Yannic says:

I would like to thank Team Yokomo for giving again the opportunity to use their excellent products. It feels good to be back in that Team where my RC carrier started and I grow up. I‘ll do my best in the future to deliver the best results!

Coming from SWorkz and made for the S35-3 series of off-road and on-road cars is the Pro Composite radio tray set. Included are a composite plastic 1-piece radio tray that is decked out with carbon fibre receiver and battery compartment covers. While looking the part the matte finish lids also reinforce the whole assembly for improved chassis stiffness. An additional mounting position further strengthens the radio box area. The radio tray set is usable with the S35-3 nitro buggy, S35-3 nitro truck and the S35-GT nitro GT car.

Andrei takes double Fxracing Indoor Series title

The final round of the 2017 UCS Fxracing Indoor Series was held recently. After an intense first two rounds, multiple national champion Jako Zsolt and current Mini-Z class champion Stroe Razvan were the main contenders. In the Buggy Stock 13.5T class, Andrei managed to take the victory after two heats, followed closely by Zsolt, Razvan and Liviu. Andrei then took the overall victory and was crowned Indoor Series Champion. In the 2WD Modified Short Course class, Andrei had strong competition from Zsolt but in the end, Andrei again took the victory and overall crown in this class.
