New from PR Racing and coming for the 401R and 401RT vehicles is a 2.5mm thick aluminium main chassis plate. Machined from high-quality material and offering a thickness of 2.5mm the chassis makes for reduced torsional flex which comes in handy in specific track conditions. In addition the main plate is more durable when running on abrasive surfaces, prolonging the part’s life.

The Hobbyplex indoor facilities in Omaha, Nebraska played host to the Tekno RC Winter Series this past weekend, attracting over 185 entries for the several nitro and electric off-road classes. The premier 1/8th Nitro Buggy class saw Seth VanDalen taking the overall TQ and he would also walk away with the win after the 30-minute A-main event, leaving behind Jared Tebo in 2nd place, some three laps down. Jarred Wiggins came in 3rd, another two laps behind, completing an all-Tekno-RC podium.

Coming from ID.RC is a new piston sleeve remover tool for 3.5cc nitro engines. The tool is of a simple yet effective design as the inner screw-type part interlocks with the sleeve’s timing windows while the outer body braces itself against the upper portion of the crankcase. Sturdy knurled handles on both the screw insert and outer body allow to extract the sleeve with minimal force and without harming the sleeve or crankcase.
The warm-up event to the French Xtremrace event took place in France recently and in perfect weather conditions. Young Noha Ben Mohamed (Xray) excelled in the 2WD Buggy class as the took the win after some tough fights in the A-mains, leaving behind Yokomo driver, Nicolas Rodrigues in 2nd. Anthony Audi (Team Associated) would round out the top 3 podium result.

T-Works have announced the release of their new shock diaphragm set for 16mm diameter shock absorbers. The volume compensators are of a reticular honeycomb design for improved damping characteristics and they are made of a durable material for long-lasting performance. The set includes four shock diaphragms and they are usable for most 16mm shock absorbers, helping to fine-tune shock action.

The updated brace was developed to improve overall steering feeling compared to the stock part and it comes machined from high-quality aluminium with a black surface coating making for improved surface protection. AKA have announced the release of their new Scribble tyre for 1/8th buggies. Inspired by the popular 1/10th buggy Scribble, the 1/8th scale version continues the trend of exceptional performance right out of the bag and superior wear characteristics. The innovative Scribble tread supports the tread and the carcass at the same time, necessitating a new carcass design. This combination of the new carcass and the supportive Scribble tread pattern promotes even wear across the entire width of the tyre for consistent performance run after run. Testing of the Scribble has shown it is at home on indoor tracks as well as hard pack, low dust outdoor tracks. The initial release of the 1/8th Scribble will be in Clay compound with other compounds to follow in the coming weeks.

The 6th and final round of the Xray Racing Series Slovakia was held at the Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin last weekend in several electric on-road and off-road classes. In the premier electric on-road class of Modified Touring it was Martin Hudy with the win on home soil from Oliver Havranek on the runner-up spot. Michal Wojcik came in 3rd to round out the all-Xray podium.
