Volker Top Qualifier in Gran Canaria

Ronald Volker is Top Qualifier for the third round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series taking place in Gran Canaria.  The Team Yokomo driver’s 13th ETS TQ, Volker secured his first pole position on the island when he topped the time sheets for a fourth time in the fifth & final qualifier.  The only driver who could challenge the defending series champion for the top spot on the grid, Adrian Berntsen was able to match the pace of the German finishing second 2-second off.  Having TQ’d the opening qualifier, the Norwegian will start second on the grid his best starting position at the ETS.  Winner of Round 2 of the championship and despite having a bad last qualifier, posting only the 6th fastest time, Team Xray’s Alexander Hagberg will start tomorrow’s finals from third.

Volker TQ’s third qualifier at ETS

Ronald Volker claimed a second TQ run at the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Gran Canaria when he again topped the time sheets in the third of the five scheduled qualifiers.  Fastest in Q2, the Yokomo driver posted a similar pace in Q3 to once again take maximum points ahead of the Xray’s of Adrian Berntsen and Alexander Hagberg.  Magnus Vässmar made it three Xray’s in the Top 4 as he found improvement to post the fourth fastest time.

Bernsten tops opening Gran Canaria qualifier

Team Xray’s Adrian Berntsen topped the opening round of qualifying at Round 3 of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Gran Canaria this morning, the Norwegian outpacing Ronald Volker by .283 with Round 2 winner Alexander Hagberg completing the Top 3.  For last year’s winner Viktor Wilck another speedo issue resulted in him failing to start the qualifier.

More Team Associated TC6 series option parts

Following the introduction of the DCV double joint driveshafts, Team Associated have more optional parts for the TC6.1 and TC6.2 touring car available. First up is a fan mount set suitable for all TC6 series cars up to the current TC6.2. Using a fan for additional motor cooling duties is helpful when racing both modified and stock motors or when racing in high ambient temperatures. Included is a fan, a blue anodised aluminium mounting bracket and hardware.

Duratrax black Pit Tech stands

Duratrax now have their Pit Stand line of car, tool and shock stands available in black colour too. In addition to the already existing blue versions, the new, dark colour variants sport the same features such as a sturdy, high-impact construction from polystyrene and aluminium, and the stands can be stored flat when not in use saving workbench and pit bag space. Available are four different variants for cars, trucks, tools and shock absorbers.

János Birinyi wins at East Hungarian Champs Rd6

The 6th round of the East Hungarian National Championship was held near Debrecen. Xray driver János Birinyi was able to win A1 and A2 coming from the second spot on the grid. Ferenc Gibala (Xray) and Tamás Ponghó (Xray) finished second and third respectively.

Zach Phillips wins 2WD Mod at 2014 Winter Cup

The 2014 Winter Cup at JCP RC Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana took place with a total of 160 entries. The race format saw four qualifiers, and triple A-mains with bump-ups. In the highly contested 2WD Modified class Kyosho’s Zach Phillips took TQ and made maximum use of the pole position by winning the first A-main with a clean run. In A2 he had a small bobble in the opening laps letting him drop to 2nd, but he was able to recover in order to take the win and therefore also the overall victory in the 2WD Mod class.

O.S. 21XZ-B VII buggy engine

New from O.S. comes the 21XZ-B VII competition buggy engine. Sharing the same liner, piston and conrod as the Speed version the engine’s output is comparable to the Speed Spec II but the price tag is more aimed towards the regional and national level racer. The engine features a 22B2 single needle carburettor with 7mm venturi insert, a silicone-filled crankshaft with tungsten counter weights and a blue anodised low-profile cooling head with lightening holes for reduced weight.
