Steven Weiss returns to Xray

Steven Weiss returns to Xray

Xray have announced that Steven Weiss has re joined the Slovakian company. Steven was part of the team back in 2007 when he claimed the TQ and 2nd at the EFRA Euros in France. After campaigns with other teams Steven has now returned and has the following to say about the deal:

I’m very happy to be back with the best team in the industry. The last 4 years were full of new experiences and involvement with RC projects and various companies & teams which helped me to grow both personally and professionally. All the experiences taught me that there is no better company and racing team in the RC industry than Xray. Since the 2014 is a very important racing year with World Championship on schedule I wanted to race with the fastest car and have a backup of a professional and strong team and as such there was no other option for me than Xray. I am very happy to be given this opportunity to come back to the team and I will do all my best. I am extremely motivated for the upcoming season and can not wait to get to the track once again.

Josh Pain doubles at 2014 Tasmanian EP off-road titles

Josh Pain doubles at 2014 Tasmanian EP off-road titles

The first major race on the Australian electric off-road calendar has been run and won, with a nationals quality field and a very challenging track. Josh Pain took the TQ in both 2WD and 4WD modified classes and the Yokomo driver then went on to win the 2WD class by taking A1 and A2 leaving Sam Wells and Matt Tied fighting for the runner-up spot. At the end it was Sam who ended in second while Matt settled for third spot. 4WD was a different affair with some tight battles coming from second place driver Chris Sturdy and third place driver Matt Griffin. All three drivers gained a win in the three finals, with Josh and Chris both having a win and a second, the tie break going to the fasted winning time. Josh just edged out Chris by 2 seconds to get the overall win and claim the prestigious Dual Tasmanian titles along with some vital Worlds Qualifier points that should help toward Japan in 2015.
