More new items from Xceed RC who have released their new XS LiPo regulator. Newly developed, it comes in at 22 x 12 x 7mm and weighs less then 7 grams. To ensure the voltage that goes into you receiver correctly, this regulator drops the voltage from 7.4V to 6V, eliminating the chance of damaging your radio equipment.

Other Aigoin takes 2nd Qualifier in Austria

Yannick Aigoin has topped the second round of qualifying for the 2009 EFRA European Championships here in Austria. Setting both a new fastest run time and lap record, the French star said he was suprised to beat Robert Batlle’s time having watched the Spaniard’s run as he waited for his own group. Running the same set-up as this morning, only switching from Caplier to Revolver tyres, he said his Losi/Novarossi combination is working really well and he will leave it the same for the third qualifier.

ProTek R/C 2300mAh LiPo RX packs

New for the ProTek R/C brand are these 2 Lithium Polymer 2-cell receiver battery pack with 2300mAh of capacity and a true 8C constant discharge rate. These super light weight Li-Poly battery is designed to power the electronics of 1/10th & 1/8th scale gas powered race cars and are available in both square and stick pack configurations. These packs are built with a lexan plastic shell around the outside of the battery, and then covered in blue heat shrink. The lexan shell is designed to protect the battery cells while in the vehicle, for longer life.

German Nationals 1/8 at Hildesheim

This coming weekend the German Nationals 1/8 on-road will take place at Hildesheim starting officially on Friday (heats on Saturday, finals on Sunday) with two days of free practice since Wednesday. A total of 88 drivers, 47 in class 1 and 41 in class 2, have made their entry for the one-event decision on the 260 meter track of the AMC Hildesheim located south of Hanover. Unfortunately the weather forecast isn´t the best. practice day one when already most of the drivers were present was an extreme mixture of rain and sun – when the track had tried up already and the first cars went out for some laps rain came back.

Matias to carry No.1 for Euros qualifying

Matias to carry No.1 for Euros qualifying

Portuguese driver Miguel Matias will carry the No.1 on his car in the top heat at the 2009 EFRA 1:8 Off Road European Championship after topping the time sheets in final practice with the fastest time of the day. Posting a run of 7 laps in 5:24.219, he ended the round 2.1 seconds up on Yannick Aigion, who will be No.2 in the reseed.

Team Epic have announced that they are the first brushless motor manufacturer to offer a dyno tested brushless motor. All Duo 2 motors are tested with the maximum timing setting which insures that the specs are comparable from motor to motor. Doing the testing this way takes any adjustable timing differences out of the equation. The results for each motor are right on the box, including rpm, watts, efficiency & torque. Team Epic are also releasing 12.3mm replacement rotors that are suitable for the Duo and Duo 2 range of BL rotors.

Xceed RC Small type INS Box

Xceed RC have released this small type INS-Box. Available in both clear and black, both versions are 50mm in diameter, 41mm high and the black version weighs in at 19 grams, approximately 30% lighter than other designs. Reduces noise level without loosing horsepower and fits all engines. Due to its size, it also reduces drag in 1/8 scale open cockpit cars. Fits below most commonly used touringcar bodies in 1/10 and is IFMAR and EFRA homologated.

Yannick Aigoin tops first timed practice

First timed practice Top 10 at Euros

Yannick Aigoin is the pace setter here in Austria after the first full round of timed practice followed by another former European Champion Miguel Matias.  Aigoin described the run as OK but he would like more steering on his Losi and will try a lighter oil in his front diff for the final timed practice.  Portuguese ace Matias, who briefly topped the time sheets having knocked Jerome Aigoin from the No.1 spot, said he was pleased with his Ninja powered GS Racing CLX which is a completely different car to that which he used at the Warm Up.
