Schumacher CAT SX steel idler gear upgrade

Schumacher CAT SX steel idler gear upgrade

Schumacher have announced the the release of this new steel idler gear upgrade for the CAT SX & SX2. Providing longer life than the original plastic CNC gears, with more running between rebuilds, there is now also a larger range of gearing options, especially helpful for stock racing. The slipper now locates on the spur side and has easier access than before. The arrangement is sold as standard with 33T and 22T, slightly different than the kit standard 33T/23T, therefore gear ratios should be adjusted accordingly. 31T/24T, 32T/23T, 34T/21T & 35T/20T are also mountable with the use of industry standard 48dp gears.

Serpent S811 Cobra updated radio box

Serpent S811 Cobra updated radio box

Serpent have introduced a new radio-box for the Serpent S811 Cobra, offering a solution for the brake-throttle servo issues, by placing the throttle-brake servo much further forward. Today’s modern generation of digital servos don’t seem durable enough to absorb the hard bumps which occur after landing/jumps and as too many drivers had issues with this, they have come up with this solution. This upgrade set will be offered free of charge to all Serpent Cobra owners and dealers and distributors with Cobra S811 kits in stock, will also receive a free upgrade set for the stock they carry. Available late November.

Team Grid RC RC8 motor mount

Team Grid RC RC8 motor mount

Team Grid RC have released this new motor mount for the RC8Be, RC8Te and SC8e designed with racers in mind. One of the visual things you will notice is an integrated pinion support for the motor shaft. By placing the pinion support at the end of the pinion gear, the motor can now withstand the punishing loads it is subject to during intensive racing conditions.  By machining the pinion support into a single unit, the mount is precise and very durable. For added performance, the Grid motor mount has incorporated multiple mounting holes to utilize more than two mounting screws. If you currently run Tekin motors, the Grid motor mount will use 5 of the available 6 holes. If you use the Neu/Castle motors, the Grid motor mount will use 3 of the 4 available holes. By adding more mounting screws, it is strengthening the setup and reducing the chance of any motor coming loose during hard racing conditions. Instead of using a sliding mesh setup, Team Grid has opted for a cam style mount, which provides a more precise mesh adjustment, and once set, the mesh will hold until you need to change it. Team Grid will also be releasing motor mounts for Losi, Mugen, Xray and others.

X-Factory slipper shaft brass flywheel

X-Factory slipper shaft brass flywheel

X-Factory have announced the release of this brass flywheel for the slipper shaft of most 1/10 off-road cars, especially mid-motor cars. With the development of brushless motors, then the introduction of sintered rotors, and now high-discharge LiPo batteries, the torque effects can actually be too much in some spots on some tracks, usually in the infield. Sometimes the car can pitch too violently under power and particularly on brakes with weight transfer between throttle and brakes at times can exceed the rear tires’ grip. The flywheel bolts right on the slipper shaft, therefore rotates opposite to the motor and wheels, smoothing everything out.  On high traction surfaces where the tires have excellent grip, the part is not needed so much, and sometimes a lighter flywheel will provide just the right effect.  Which is why they have center-punched a dozen holes in the periphery of the weight and supplied the proper drill bit so you can lighten the part to fit your track. Drilling three holes takes out about 1/2 gram from the 15-gram part.
