SkyRC Toro X8 V2 1/8th scale brushless motor

SkyRC Toro X8 V2 1/8th scale brushless motor

SkyRC have introduced their new Toro X8 V2 electric brushless motor for 1/8th scale applications. The sensorless motor is housed in a CNC-machined T6 billet aluminium heatsink can and it is of a 6-pole, 18-slot stator design for a high-torque, high-power output. Utilising super high conductance silicon wires, a sintered neodymium magnet rotor and high purity copper windings the motor also offers high efficiency for low operation temperatures. The X8 V2 is available in a 2100kv and a 2400kv variant soon.

Active Hobby Products chassis balancers & brass weights

Active Hobby Products chassis balancers & brass weights

Japanese company Active Hobby Products have introduced their chassis balance tool and also an arrangement of brass chassis balance weights. Starting with the balance tool, it adapts a common design that helps to achieve a perfect left-to-right chassis balance without the use of scales. The tools offer a sturdy base and hardened steel pins that interlock with the balance holes most of today’s electric and nitro on-road chassis have to offer. Placing the car on the pins and using additional weights to balance the left and right weight help to achieve a 50/50 weight bias in order to gain equal left and right hand turning characteristics. The balance tools come in sets of two and they hit stores soon.

Serpent release first SDX 1/10th 4WD buggy image

Serpent release first SDX 1/10th 4WD buggy image

Serpent have released a first “official” image of their forthcoming 1/10th 4WD electric off-road buggy. In use by Jörn Neumann and other drivers during last weekend’s German Nationals, the shaft-driven and SDX-named buggy is still in prototype stages, making use of both already available Serpent parts such as lower A-arms, shocks while the remainder of the buggy is a mixture of prototype and externally sourced bits. So far the vehicle makes use of a common design with aluminium front and rear bulkheads, and a simple, lightweight mid section. We bring you more information on the project as they become available.

T-Works B6-series chassis balance weights

T-Works B6-series chassis balance weights

Made for Team Associated’s sixth generation 1/10th 2WD buggies come two aluminium chassis weights. Machined from high-quality alloy and sporting a back anodised surface and laser-etched markings the under servo weight weighs in at 9.5g while the under electronics weighs adds 15g to the all-up weight of the buggy. Both use existing hardware holes and are thus securely fastened even when the going gets tough. The weights are usable separately or in combination and they fit both the B6’s and B6D’s chassis pockets.
