Jason Ashton joins Associated

 Jason Ashton joins Associated

We are a little late with this news, as we were busy in Argentina, but Associated was in contact to let us know that Jason Ashton has joined their team. The 2004 ROAR 1/8th National Champion and IFMAR World Championship A-main finalist will campaign the Factory Team RC8 on the U.S. National and International racing circuit. Ashton brings a balance of experience and desire to the already lethal force that is the Associated 1/8th Racing Team. When asked why Ashton found racing for Team Associated so appealing he had this to say

When I analyzed all the teams, vehicles and companies, Team Associated continued to rise to the top.  I’m racing for what I feel is the complete package.  I am excited to have their support and to be a part of their Team.

Look for Ashton to debut his RC8 at the upcoming IFMAR World Championships Warm-Up at The Farm2 in late October and then on to the Nitro Pit for the Nitrocross Invitational.

Leon McIntosh wins the Region 4 Champs

Xray are reporting on the Region 4 Championships that took place last weekend Ocala, Florida. Racers from all around the state came together for the championship race on a track that was for the most part very wide open with some tight and technical sections. In the main final it was Kyosho racer Ryan Eckert that got the lead followed by a quick starting Leon McIntosh in 2nd with the Xay XT8. For the first 10 minutes the lead changed back and forth between the 2 until the 12 minute mark when Ryan lost a diff gear giving Leon a comforable lead and eventually the win. Mugen driver Jeff Keaton jumped into 2nd followed by Kyosho Driver Sean Kersten in 3rd.

Adam Drake wins Novarossi GP

Adam Drake wins Novarossi GP

Our partners Neo Buggy are reporting that Adam Drake has taken victory at this years Novarossi GP in the UK, ahead of fellow Losi driver Darren Bloomfield. Bloomfield dominated the final, but at about 33mins had a driveshaft problem letting Drake and Associated racer Neil Cragg through. After rejoining, Darren was driving ballistically fast having re-passed Cragg, he was catching Drake who was about a lap in front, however a few errors by Bloomfield meant that the gap was enough for the Drake to take the win.

2007 RC Pro East Series Rd3 – Report

2007 RC Pro East Series Rd3 - Report

We received a report from Gene Hickersen from the 3rd and final round of the 2007 RC Pro East Series, which was held last weekend in Savannah Georgia at Phil Hurd Raceway. It was a good turnout of about 140 entries as the best of the East battle for the title of RC Pro East Champion. The track was a good combination of fast sections and really slow sections with tons of small double jumps and 1 huge double jump in the middle. There was no place to make up any time on the layout, but many places where you could easily loose time; so the racing was very close as everyone had about the same lap times.
