Barnstormers RC in Chester, New York, held their Hangover race last weekend. The track was hard-packed with a smooth but slightly rocky groove. Bryan Kata would bring home the hardware in 2WD Buggy from Jared Phair on the 2 spot. Anthony Bartholomew came in 3rd to round out the podium. In the 4WD Buggy class Jared Phair kept his cool, bringing home the win on a slicker getting track, leaving behind Bryan Kata in 2nd and Josh Andrews in 3rd.
JConcepts have announced the Indoor National Series and National Carpet & Turf Series race dates and details for 2019. After eight established seasons, the INS has attracted over 12,000 entries with the goal of bringing the best RC racing experiences to the masses. Hot Race Tyres from Italy have announced the signing of top US driver Cole Ogden to their team. The HB driver has inked a 2-years contract and while running their products at events around the world, he will also assist with product development and trackside support, offering help to all US costumers on the track together with TJ Bradley and Wallace Motorsports. Cole says:
I’m extremely honored to be apart of team HotRace for the next 2 years. I’m excited for the new journey to begin, and I can’t wait showcase what HotRace tyres are capable of. Jake’s RC Pro-AM of Topeka, Kansas will be holding their 8th annual Pro-AM Showdown from March 1st to 3rd. The dirt off-road race expects 200+ entries for the various Modified and Stock Buggy, Stadium Truck and SC Truck classes with Friday being a full day of practice followed by four rounds of qualifying on Saturday and single main events on Sunday. Last weekend was the fourth round of the hugely popular Worksop Series, there was once again a fantastic entry of 165 drivers across the three classes of 2WD, 4WD and the vintage buggy class. As always it was round by round qualifying as the racing format, with the best two results from four rounds of qualifying counting towards the final position. Qualifying in 2WD saw a dominating performance by Neil Cragg, taking TQ in three out of the four rounds to take pole position from Craig Collinson and Jonathan Skidmore.

The third round of the Xray Racing Series Poland took place last weekend. The race was considered the biggest indoor event in Poland and it attracted 170 drivers in total to race on a high-grip EOS carpet track. The layout was pretty fast with quick jumps and the race attracted some special guests such as Michal Orlowski, Jörn Neumann and Adam Izsay with all three showing some crazy fast laps. The race was held in six different classes including 1/14th scale open with the smaller buggies and trucks doing really good on the 1/10th scale track. In the 2WD and 4WD Modified classes the pace was set by Michal Orlowski (Schumacher) in the qualifiers, however come the finals, Jörn Neumann (Schumacher) stepped up his game and took the wins in both classes. Behind Michal it was Bartłomiej Kramża (Schumacher) who would round out the 2WD Modified top 3.

HB Racing have announced the addition of their latest factory team member, Swedish talent Elias Johansson. Elias joins the team in time for the first important race of the year, this weekend’s 2019 DHI Cup in Denmark. The former Team Associated driver says:
I’m happy to announce that I will run the HB Racing cars starting with the DHI Cup for 2019 and beyond. Big thanks to Adrien Bertin and all the HB Racing team for giving me the opportunity to join such a successful brand. Looking forward to race these new cars. Learning, testing and meeting all race-friends will be my task with hopes to get race wins and titles.

Multi-time Australian National Champion and IFMAR World A-main finisher, Kyle McBride has announced his departure from Team Associated and Reedy. With the iconic US brand since 2015, Kyle has achieved four national championships and three Worlds A-main finishes during that stint, but he will not continue with the company for 2019. In a statement on social media Kyle had the following to say:
As 2018 has ended up and we are now early into 2019… I’d like announce to everyone that I will no longer be continuing with Team Associated/Reedy. It is very bitter sweet but I just want to take this time to go back and look at how much I achieved with Team Associated and how much they supported me through my racing career from 2015 through to 2018. Together we managed 4 National Australia Championships, 2 x 1/8th IFMAR world championship final positions and 1x 1/10th scale World Championship final position, which was most first 1/10th Worlds A Final. And that’s just a few to say the least…
I really can’t thank the entire of Team Associated enough, and all of the amazing people I met along the way. Brent Thielke, Richard Saxton, Kody Numedahl, Shawn Ireland, Rick Howard, Nick Wautlet and my team mates Ryan Cavalieri, Spencer Rivkin and so many more awesome people! I’m super appreciative of how much you guys looked after me and my dad and the amount of things we learnt whilst working together! I’ll never forget all of it. I really look forward to the upcoming year and what my future holds in racing, stay tuned for what’s next.
