The Thornhill Championship weekend brought almost 100 entries from all over Texas and with almost 30 trucks, E-Truggy drew the most attention. After the double A-mains it was TLR’s Brad Ripple with the win from the Xray duo of Ron Simpson 2nd and Daniel Grobe 3rd.

Round 1 of the Metropolitan Championship was held at the new Speed Paradise track in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event was attended by 55 drivers in the five different categories of Buggy Open, Master and Pro, Truggy and Brushless. In the Pro Buggy class the TQ and victory went to Nicolas Bregante who came out fastest in the final from Ale Calens and Sebastian Recio.
The fifth round of the Xray Racing Series Poland was held at the Zatoka Sportu venue in Lodz. The organisers laid out a high speed track and the appearance of the Polish television and a couple of photographers made for a professional atmosphere. The 4WD Buggy class was top qualified by Bartosz Zalewski from Jakub Luczak and Sebastian Migal. In the triple A-mains Zalewski made a couple of mistakes which cost him the win as the top 3 drivers here close together in terms of performance. On the other hand did Luczak show robot-style consistency which awarded him the win as Migal rounded out the top 3 results.

This past weekend the Ospy Team GP was held at the Gussago track in Italy. The event was the warm-up race for the AMSCI Italian Championships that will be held in mid-April and in the Nitro Buggy F1 class it was Leonardo Valente with the win from Mattia Polito and Marco Ravaglia in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Bruno Coelho has grabbed a somewhat unexpected victory at the penultimate round of the Euro Offroad Series in Austria. Having had to concede to the impressive performance of the Schumacher team in qualifying, the reigning 4WD Champion would capitalize on errors by his rivals in the finals, capping off the weekend with a win in A3 in front of Michal Orlowski to claim an important second win of the season given he was absent from the third round. Behind, Joern Neumann would finish second overall, the German unable to hold onto the second he needed in A3 to claim the overall win. Adding to Orlowski’s frustrating run in the finals, the weekend’s 2WD winner would not even make the podium, some smart driving by Daniel Kobbevik in A1 & 2 rewarded with 3rd overall.

The opening round of the Indonesia National Buggy Championship was held at the HTS Track in Solo, Central Java this past weekend. The event, held on the country’s first permanent indoor track, attracted 44 drivers from Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Semarang, Medan, Gorontalo as well as local drivers. After six rounds of qualifying, Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) took the TQ honours but unfortunately he suffered a flameout in the main final and had to settle for 3rd overall. Up front Stanley Wangsanegara (HB Racing/O.S.) took the win from John Agus (Kyosho/O.S.) in 2nd.
Power HD have announced the signing of German frontrunner, Yannic Prümper to their factory team. The three-times ETS winner and multi-times podium finisher also scored exceptional results at European and World Championships and he will be using Power HD’s super speed HV brushless low profile servo Storm-7 at upcoming race events such as the ETS, EOS, the World Championships and other major races. The opening round of the French 1/8th Nitro Buggy Championship took place this past weekend at the dirt track in Cogolin. Team Associated’s Tom Robin would take the win in the main final with his RC Concept-propelled buggy from Yannick Aigoin (Xray/Ultimate) 2nd and TLR/RC Concept’s Renaud Savoya 3rd. Thomas Musso (HB Racing/Team Orion) came in 4th from Kyosho/Reds Racing pilot Rayan Medjoubi 5th.
