David Ronnefalk sweeps Swedish 1/8th E-Buggy Nats

Hot on the heels of securing his sixth national Nitro Buggy title, HB Racing’s David Ronnefalk also came out successful at the recent 1/8th E-Buggy nationals. Held on a purpose-built track at the Boras Stadspark and in front of many spectators David took the overall TQ and also the win from Elias Johansson (Team Associated) in 2nd and David Hassel (HB Racing) 3rd.

Michal Orlowski joins Arrowmax

Arrowmax have announced the addition of Schumacher factory driver, Michal Orlowski to their works team. The reigning EOS 2WD champion will use Arrowmax tools and accessories to build, maintain and set-up his rides and he has the following to say about the deal:

I am very pleased to join the Arrowmax racing team. It will be a pleasure for me to use their wide range of tools and setup accessories to prepare my cars. I am looking forward to working with them in the future!

Schiffner & Krause take 2017 German Truggy titles

The 2017 German Truggy Championship was held at the MRC Leipzig track over the weekend. In the Nitro Truggy class it was Agama driver Ronny Schiffer who took a maiden truck title from young Johannes Klatt (Mugen). TLR driver Sascha Nelson came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Patrick Hofer sweeps Swiss 1/8th Nitro Buggy Nats Rd4

Round 4 of the Swiss 1/8th Nitro Buggy Nationals was held in Montagny this past weekend. Patrick Hofer would take the TQ position after the qualifiers and following a rain-interrupted Sunday morning he would claim the P2 spot for the 45-minute main final after the semis. In the main and shortly after the start Patrick was able to get into the lead and from there he never looked back to take a commanding win, leaving Jeremy Pittet and David Naldini behind in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Tom Cockerill doubles at Kampenhout GP

The annual Belgium GP was held at the MBV Kampenhout track in changing weather conditions. Yokomo’s Tom Cockerill would sweep the event by taking the wins in the 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes to take a double victory. Ben Jemison (Schumacher) and Team Associated driver Jesper Rasmussen would round out the 4WD podium while Wesley van Helmond (Schumacher) and Wounter Wynen joined winner Cockerill on the 2WD podium.

Matsuzaki & Martin win 2017 JMRCA 1/10th Buggy titles

The 2017 JMRCA 1/10th Buggy Japan National Championships were held this past weekend at the iconic Yatane Arena. Hayato Matsuzaki (Yokomo) would grab the TQ in the 2WD class while Kaito Kodera (Yokomo) came out fastest after the 4WD qualifying. After the 2WD A-mains it was still veteran racer Matsuzaki on top to take another All-Japan Championship title, after a 9-year long winning drought, with Kohta Akimoto (Kyosho) and Lee Martin (Yokomo) rounding out the podium in 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the 4WD category Lee Martin took his maiden JMRCA title from Kaito Kodera 2nd and Kohta Akimoto 3rd.

David Ronnefalk claims 6th national 1/8th off-road title

The Swedish 1/8th Off-road Nationals were held at the famous Furulund track this past weekend in changing and thus challenging weather conditions. Due to the weather the qualifying was very close and ultimately it was HB Racing’s David Ronnefalk who took the TQ honours and he would also score the win in the main final to grab his sixth 1/8th off-road national title. Behind him, Jessica Palsson (Kyosho) in 2nd and Hampus Berg (HB Racing) in 3rd would complete the podium result.

Boots & Sartel successful at Pro-Line European Challenge

The 2017 Pro-Line European Challenge was hosted by the Mini Auto-Club Saint-Quentinois in France this past weekend. The event attracted both national and international 1/8th buggy racers to compete in the two classes of nitro and electric. In Nitro Buggy it was Kyosho’s Elliott Boots who brought home the TQ and win, leaving Team Associated’s Jamie Clancy and Xray’s Jean-Pierrick Sartel behind in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
