Roman Larkin wins at Russian 1/10th off-road Champs

The city of Sochi, located on the Black Sea coast recently played host to this year’s Russian 1/10th Off-road Championships. In the 4WD Buggy class it was multi-time winner, Roman Larkin who brought home leg wins in A1 and A2 to take the overall victory for the third time in a row.

2016/17 Mibosport Cup Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the 2016/17 Mibosport Cup was held this past weekend at the Hotel-Sport in Hrotovice, Czech Republic and it saw a total of 233 entries for the four on-road and two off-road classes. The Touring Car Modified class was dominated by reigning IFMAR Touring Car World Champion, Ronald Völker (Yokomo) who won the qualifying and took the overall TQ without any problems. Behind him Viktor Wilck (Serpent) and Tobias Seidl (Schumacher) made up the top 3 while, after some very strong runs in the qualifiers, Czech driver Radek Flek came in fourth.

Dani Choi doubles at KMRCA Off-road Championships

The Korean KMRCA Off-road National Championship was held this past weekend. Newly signed Sweep Racing driver, Dani Choi (Kyosho) would walk away with the win in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy and 1/8th Nitro Truggy class to round out a perfect weekend. In the Nitro Buggy class and behind Dani it were Si Minsu and Jang Wonseok that rounded out the top 3 result.

Beppe Fermi doubles at AMSCI 1/10th Off-road Champs

The 2016 Italian AMSCI 1/10th Off-road Championships were held last weekend and it was Beppe Fermi who walked away with the win in both the 2WD and 4WD classes. Francesco Fasetta and Nathan Senesi would complete the top 3 result in the 2WD class while Marco Baruffolo and Mattea Speranza rounded out the podium in 4WD.

Burak Kilic wins Sachsen Cup finale

The final round of the German Sachsen Cup series was held in Munzig near Dresden in the eastern part of the country. The race attracted nearly 60 racers to compete in several classes with Burak Kilic taking the win in the 30-minute Nitro Buggy main final. Ronny Schiffner ended the A-main on the runner-up spot from Berkan Kilic, who suffered from a flame out but he was still able to take the final podium spot for an all-Agama top 3.

Bart Mullink takes 2016 BL-Cup title

The final round of this year’s BL-Cup was held on the unique indoor astro turf track of the city of Grou. Pre-event favourite, Bart Mullink swept the qualifiers, scoring the only 16-laps run of the weekend. Albert Croesen and Anne Strom came in second and third, being tie on points. The semifinal then did not went to plan for the TQ holder as a mistake when charging one of his car’s LiPo batteries meant Bart wasn’t able to finish the final. Anne Strom took profit of the situation to win the race while the other semi was won by Albert. Thankfully for Bart the BL-Cup has a last change final that allows the two fastest drivers to bump up into the main final and ultimately Bart and also Wesley Wiertz were able to snatch the last minute tickets for the main.

2016 Race for Your Lives – Report

2016 Race for Your Lives – Report

This past weekend Track Time Hobbies of Reno, Nevada held their annual Race for Your Lives event. Racers from as far as Arizona made the trek to Track Time Hobbies to race on the latest layout made with some of the most consistent dirt on the West Coast. Nearly 80 entries meant there would be some additional time and this would also allow for an additional 4th round of Ifmar qualifying for the racers who attended along with double A-main formats for the more heavily entered classes. Lower B-Mains were run first allowing the two bump up drivers to bump into their respective A-mains.

Laszlo Kiss-Orban retains Hungarian E-Buggy title

The final round of the Hungarian 1/8th E-Buggy National Championship was recently held in Apaj. Pre-event favorite and reigning champion, Laszlo Kiss-Orban already had a massive 20 points lead over his closest competitor before the event but this did not stop him from taking another round win to wrap up the 2016 title and with it his second title in a row.
