Ryan Cavalieri wins Nitro Buggy class at NeoX

Ryan Cavalieri has snapped his 2nd place finish streak with a stellar performance in the 45 minute Nitro Buggy final at the NeoX race this past weekend. Cavalieri would start on pole and quickly jump out into a 5-sec lead with his AKA-shoed and Mx-powered Team Associated prototype buggy. Teammate Jared Tebo (Kyosho/Mx), fresh off of a pair of wins at the Silver State rolled that confidence over to England and kept the pressure on Cav with a one less pit strategy and some blazing fast laps. David Ronnefalk (HB/Team Orion) had a rough start to the final but kept his head down and the tyres on the dirt, and worked all the way back up to 3rd.

Jared Tebo wins E-Buggy class at Silver State

The 2015 Silver State was held this past weekend in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada at RC Tracks of Las Vegas located just a few blocks off the World famous Strip. This first class race facility will host the 2016 IFMAR 1/8 Nitro Buggy World Championships next year and with perfect weather conditions and over 450 total entries, it was going to be a great weekend of racing. The 1/8th E-Buggy class saw a single 10-Minute A-Main event. Kyosho’s Jared Tebo would take full advantage of his 2nd position on the grid and pace Mugen’s Ace Robert Batlle for the first couple minutes of the race. Batlle made a small mistake in the centre of the track and Tebo got by for the lead. A hard charging Ryan Lutz would make things interesting at the later stages of the race, but Tebo would stay strong and hold on for the win. Tekno RC’s Lutz would finish 2nd and HB’s Ty Tessman made a great comeback to finish up on the podium in 3rd.

Danish 1/8th Off-Road Nationals Rd1 – Report

The first round of the Danish 1/8th Off-Road nationals attracted a total of around 90 drivers from Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Norway to compete in Nitro Buggy, Nitro Truggy and Electric Buggy classes. The track layout was very challenging and fun to race with a combination of a very big jump and difficult landing section on the straight, an “American wupti section” and some tight and flowing corners and sweepers. In Nitro Buggy it was the Xray duo of Mike Gosvig and Peter Harder who were fighting hard throughout all qualification rounds. Mike won the first round with 0.2 seconds on Peter and the second round with a 2 second margin. In round three Peter was leading until the last lap when a crash on the big jump handed Mike the win and a well-deserved TQ. In the last qualifier Peter turned the fastest lap of the day and scored the fastest qualification run to have him start from pole in the semifinal B. Mike and Peter then went on to win their respective semifinals to have them line up up front for the main final.
