Oscar Cabezas joins Novarossi team

Multiple Spanish National Champion Oscar Cabezas has signed for Novarossi. Leaving behind a successful run with Mega engines, the 1/8th European Championship direct qualifier, will use the Italian company’s engines to power his 1/8th scale chassis, the class he will focus on in the build up to the World Championships held next year in Lostallo, Switzerland.

PN Racing Mini-Z World Cup Finals

Reflex Racing were in touch to tell us about their success at the recent PN Racing Mini-Z World Cup Finals in Las Vegas. 1/28 scale racing continues to grow around the world, and with this event very well attended, the Reflex International Team managed to score at least one podium in every class with their team drivers Jacob Feinstein and Lex Tyler sweeping the 2WD classes. Team Orion confirm Stefan Hanauer

Team Orion have officially confirmed that current German National Champion Stefan Hanauer has joined their team, debuting with his new equipment already back in October. Having used RB products since 2004 he has now joined the Swiss team which is led by former World Champion Adrien Bertin. Stefan is well known for his experience on national and international level and will use the latest Team Orion products in his Kyosho Evolva M3. In close collaboration with designer Adrien Bertin and top Orion driver Ilia van Gastel, they will focus on next years World Championship on the company’s home turf in Lostallo, Switzerland.

Rheinard back on top of the World

Marc Rheinard is now officially the best electric touring car driver in the World after he became the first double title holder by winning the 2008 IFMAR Electric Onroad World Championships here today in Thailand. The German was always one of the favourites coming into the event along with his great rival & friend Atsushi Hara but no one could have predicted such a dramatic finish to the event.

Hara gets it done in A-Main 2

After the drama of the opening Leg, the second A-Main here at the RCS in Bangkok was a far more straight forward affair with Atsushi Hara taking a comfortable win over Marc Rheinard. The result means the outcome of the fifth Touring Car World Championships will go down to the third and final leg.

Masami wins first A Main

There was a big surprise in the opening Leg of the A-Main here in Thailand with Masami Hirosaka taking the win after title favourites Atsushi Hara and Marc Rheinard touched on the third lap allowing the Yokomo driver to take an early lead. Once out front the Japanese legend never looked back to head home Ronald Volker and ever impressive Elliot Harper.

Hara TQ’s World Championships

Although he’s a former World Champion he had never before TQ’d even a single round of qualifying at the bi annual event, but here in Thailand its a very different story for Atsushi Hara. Winning the final qualifier to confirm he will start tomorrow’s A Mains from pole, the Japanese ace topped the time sheets on 4 of the 6 occassions with his great rival Marc Rheinard the only one to denying him total domination.

Rheinard ends Hara domination

Marc Rheinard has TQ’d the fourth round of qualifying for the 2008 IFMAR Touring Car Worlds to bring to an end Atsushi Hara’s domination. The two former World Champions swapped times throughout the heat with Rheinard finally stopping the clocks in the faster time by just 2/10ths of a second.
