Bowie Ginting wins 2021 East March Race

Held this past weekend, the East March Race in Indonesia was run following a year hiatus due to pandemic situation. Open to a total of 30 racers due to limitations for health and safety protocols, in the main Open Brushless 13.5T class it was Bowie Ginting who topped qualifying followed by Muhammad Izzah and Ridhwan Suteja. The finals saw the same results as Bowie scored the first two final wins to secure the overall early, while a win in the last leg for Izzah handed him 2nd and Ridhwan completed the podium result.

Yannic Prumper joins Arrowmax team

Former ETS race winner, Yannic Prumper will be joining Arrowmax for the upcoming seasons. On the new deal, the newly signed Yokomo driver said ‘I am really proud and excited to be able to join the Arrowmax team. They are well known for their high quality tools. From now, I will use their whole range of products in the pits.’

FSEARA Rd5 Coral Spring – Report

Round 5 of the FSEARA saw another strong 94 entries event at the Coral Spring RC club, The highest count for this season. Saturday’s practice was filled with lots of laps and tons of traction, The track was on fire, but Sunday was another day. Even though the perfect weather for racing, the cold air and wind brought on a new challenge. The mini wind storm blew all of the sand/dirt on the track resulting in an overall 1sec slower pace than Saturday. The Coral Spring Crew did the best to blow off the track between rounds to keep the condition as best as possible. Thank you to Chris Crowder on the mic keeping the program running smooth, we were able to complete 3 qualifying rounds and main this time.

Flávio Elias takes 2020 Brazilian national title

Last weekend the 3rd and final round of the 2020 Brazilian nationals was held at the track of Americana as the race had been postponed in December due to the pandemic situation. Again Shepherd team driver Flávio Elias showed great performance and took the TQ spot but he had difficulties in the race and had to retire allowing Eduardo Dulac to take victory. The result however, along with those in the previous two rounds, was enough for Elias to take the 2020 Brazilian national 1/8 IC track title in front of fellow Shepherd racer Samuel Prato.

Lex Tyler joins MR33 Team

MR33 have announced the signing of US Onroad front runner Lex Tyler to their factory team. Lex will use the complete range of MR33 products to keep his Onroad program running and he will attend all important Onroad races in the USA. Lex had the following to say:

I am happy to join MR33 team for 2021. I’ve recently had the opportunity to utilise MR33 tools and travel accessories while keeping my pit area and equipment well organised. The wrenching experience has been an absolute pleasure and results keep getting better since changing brands. I’ve gained much confidence with MR33 products and highly recommend them.

Billy Fletcher joins Capricorn team

Capricorn RC have announced the addition of top British stock driver Billy Fletcher to their EP team. Billy will now use the TE05 platform to compete in the BRCA stock touring car nationals as well as running 1:8th EP, having made his debut in 2020 and challenging for the title. Billy had the following to say:

I’d firstly just like to thank Awesomatix for an amazing year, although cut short due to the COVID we achieved great results still. I can’t thank Capricorn enough for the opportunity they have given me this year to broaden my experience in the world of RC. Having spent time with the team last season venturing into 8th on road, I already know that amazing things will be achieved! You will find me on track with the latest TE-05 and C803 EP Race Evo.

David Loppini joins Shepherd factory team

Shepherd have announced that Italian front-runner David Loppini is joining the Shepherd factory team to race the Velox V10 platform. Working for a motorsport company in real life he is a great addition to the team as he has vast experience in design and development processes. David had the following to say:

I am really excited for this new adventure. The main factor that lead me to this choice is the pursuit of excellence showed by Shepherd factory, from design to material: smooth lines and excellent quality. I feel that team work is the key, and Shepherd is the right environment where to grow. Massive thanks to Giovanni and Patrick for this opportunity. Can’t wait to hit the track.

Toni Gruber joins Ielasi Tuned

Ielasi Tuned have announced the signing of former 1/10 European champion and former German champion Toni Gruber. Very happy to have another top level driver on the team, following the recent signing on Alex Zanchettin, their new driver had the following to say about joining the team:

First of all I want to say a big thank you to Novarossi for the past 8 years. The engines work very well and I achieved great Victories. Now I’m very happy to be racing with Ielasi Tuned engines.
