Yokomo USA sign Eric Epp

Yokomo USA have announced the signing of Protoform’s own Eric Epp to their factory race team. Eric has been a staple in the touring car scene for many years and has shown great speed on the track. Everyone at Yokomo is looking forward to this great collaboration with Eric and the all-new BD10 mid-motor touring car. Eric says:

So excited about the new drive with Team Yokomo! A huge thanks to Joe Pillars for the opportunity! We’ve already had an awesome track day with 15 Yokomo drivers all shaking down the new BD10 together. I can tell how much fun it’s gonna be with this team of super fast dudes. The amount of support helping get up to speed with the new gear is incredible! All of this really feels like coming full circle for me: My first ever RC car as a little kid was a foam-tire Yokomo F1 car that I would drive around my parents linoleum kitchen floor. And the first ever IFMAR title for PROTOform was won by the legendary Masami Hirosaka driving a Yokomo! So this brand as always been close to my Dad’s and my heart. Gonna be a great 2020!

Mark Young wins at RugRacers Rd3

Round 3 of the popular RugRacers electric on-road series was held in Herts, UK last weekend. The race saw the running of Touring Stock, FWD and MTC classes and the latter had Mark Young taking the FTQ and pole position for the 2-leg final. Leg 1 saw most of the field squabbling at the start and by the end of the race Mark was a quarter of a lap in front of 2nd place so it was a comfortable win for him. Leg 2 saw a much cleaner start than leg 1 and after five minutes with all but one lap being under 12 seconds Mark took an easy win, practically a lap in front of the 2nd place driver. Behind Mark it was Josh Moore on the runner-up spot as Jack Anderson came in 3rd to round out the top result.
