The Essex Winter Series team announce the details of their 2019 EWS International event. The event will take place over the weekend of the 6th to 8th of December 2019, at their indoor facility in the South-East of the UK, just outside London. Following the success of the event in previous years, the format will remain largely the same, with classes for Modified and Super Stock 13.5 Blinky Touring, using Volante tyres, and this year a Front Wheel Drive class, with hand-out 17.5T motors and ETS-spec Ride tyres. To highlight the quality of the event, many drivers from across Europe have already confirmed they will return to the race, including Yannic Prumper, Ronald Volker, Max Machler, Christian Donath, Christopher Krapp, and more. Entries are limited to 140 to allow for a reasonable finish time each day, and are now open. Full rules and a link to the entry page can be found on the EWS website here. Marko Grigic wins IFMAR Large Scale World Championship

The 2019 IFMAR Large Scale World Championship was held in Villa Real, Portugal last week. The organising club AMVR ensured perfect conditions for the 85 pilots that gathered from 19 countries. The TQ went to Markus Feldmann with the Superpole being won by Alessio Mazzeo. The A-main final saw a lot of position changes in the first half of the race, however it was Marko Grigic who opted for a very late pit stop in the first half and from there he never looked back to take the win after the 60-minute race, becoming the first Croatian IFMAR World Champion. Alessio Mazzeo came in 2nd, some ten seconds behind as Marko Weigerding rounded out the top 3 a lap down.

The 2019 Edition of the Annual International Indoor Championships were held at 702 RC Raceway in Las Vegas, Nevada this past weekend. 2019/20 Essex Winter Series Rd1 – Report

The 2019/2020 Essex Winter Series kicked off this weekend. With the championship continuing to be one of the most popular and prestigious races around, the competition was high and a few small tweaks to the series had positive responses from drivers across the board. In the Modified class, it was Elliott Harper who was out to defend his series title from last year and he kicked off qualifying by setting the best time, two and a half seconds ahead of Kyle Branson, with Matthew White and Chris Grainger just half a second further back and Paul Pinkney rounding out the top five. It seemed like it would take something special to stop Elliott dominating the race, but an element of luck is always needed and his luck ran out in Q2. After leading for over four minutes, he got caught up on a track marker that had moved, taking him out of the round.
