Björn Christiansen wins Club Racing Series Rd5

Round 5 of the Northern Germany based Club Racing Series was hosted by the MACH track in Hamburg last weekend. Held as part of the MACH’s open club series the CRS saw the running of the sole Plastic Cars class, a category targeting “tub” chassis touring cars such as the Yokomo SD Sports, the Team Associated TC4 Club Racer or Tamiya tub chassis cars. Hand-out ETS Muchmore motors, a mandatory 1:6.5 gearing and a single set of Volante 28R Hybrid tyres make for a level playing field that was lead by Yokomo’s Björn Christiansen. The avid stock racer dominated both the 8-minute qualifiers and triple 10-minute A-main finals at will, leaving behind veteran racer Sebastian Sürstedt whose 20-years old Team Associated TC3 Factory Team once again came out of retirement for an undefeated 2nd overall position. Modified specialist, MACH’s Christian Stolze (Yokomo) had to cope with the somewhat low speeds of the Plastic Cars in general and of his rental Yokomo SD Sports in particular but he ultimately snatched the final podium spot from MACH’s, Zeljko Garai (Yokomo) in 4th.
